ποΈ Interviewer: βAlexander, you and Barcola seem to have developed a frightening connection. How would you describe your relationship with him?β
ποΈ Alexander Isak: βHonestly, I think Bradley is one of the most unbelievable footballers I have ever played with. And Iβm not even exaggerating. Sometimes I make a run and I havenβt even looked at him, but the ball is already there. I genuinely donβt know how he does it.
People talk about pace, dribbling, finishing, but with Bradley, itβs everything together. He can beat two players, attract three defenders, and still make the perfect decision. You think youβve seen everything he can do, then the next training session he does something that makes you question whether the rest of us are actually professional footballers.
βPlaying with him makes my job ridiculously easy. I could be having the worst game of my life, touching the ball like Iβve never played football before, and Bradley will still find a way to put me through on goal.
βSometimes I tell him to slow down because Iβm still trying to understand what he just did. Heβll dribble past someone, look up, and play a pass that I swear nobody else on the pitch even imagined.
βAnd the funny thing is, heβs not satisfied. You score one goal, he wants another. You win one game, heβs already thinking about the next one. That mentality is what separates him.
βHonestly, if Bradley Barcola told me to make a run through a brick wall, I would probably ask him which side he wants me to come from. I trust that man with my career.
βPeople ask me what makes our partnership work. Itβs simple. I make the runs, he finds me, and the defenders spend 90 minutes wondering why they chose football as a profession.
βI hope we play together for many years because, with all due respect to every other winger in world football, I donβt think people fully understand what I have beside me.
βGive him space and he destroys you. Give him no space and he creates some. Double-mark him and someone else is free. Triple-mark him and Iβm probably celebrating.
βBradley Barcola is not just my teammate. He is a cheat code, a personal blessing, and possibly the reason some defenders are considering early retirement.β

π¨ Michael Owen on Liverpoolβs 2β0 statement win against Brighton:
ποΈ Interviewer: βMichael, Liverpool beat Brighton 2β0. How impressed were you by that performance?
Michael Owen:
βHonestly, that was a statement win. Brighton are not some average side who turn up and offer nothing. Theyβve scored 18 goals this season, they know how to hurt teams, and yet Liverpool kept them completely quiet. Not even a goal!
βFlorian Wirtz gets the opener with a deflection which resulted as own goal, Isak makes it 2β0, but for me, the real story is at the back. Virgil van Dijk was commanding, Jeremy Jacquet looked incredibly composed, and Ronald AraΓΊjo? What a performance!
βAraΓΊjo brought the aggression, the confidence and the fight. He wasnβt just defending; he was making life miserable for Brightonβs attackers. Van Dijk organised everything, Jacquet looked like he belonged at this level, and together they gave Brighton absolutely nothing to feed onβ
βLetβs be honest, when was the last time you saw Liverpool defend with that much authority against a side in this kind of scoring form? Everyone talks about attacking football, but clean sheets win you big matches tooβ
βAnd hereβs the part rival fans wonβt enjoy: Liverpool didnβt need to score four or five to make a statement. They controlled the danger, took their chances and shut the door. Two goals scored, zero conceded, and Brighton sent home with nothing. That is what a serious team looks like.β
Interviewer: βAre Van Dijk, Jacquet and AraΓΊjo becoming one of the most impressive defensive combinations in the league?
Michael Owen:
βItβs too early to crown anybody, but if they keep performing like this, Liverpool fans have every reason to be excited. Van Dijk brings the experience, Jacquet brings the composure, and AraΓΊjo brings that warrior mentality. Imagine facing that back line when all three are playing with confidence!
βBrighton have scored 18 goals this season. Liverpool just showed that those numbers mean very little when you come up against a defence that refuses to give you a single comfortable moment.β

Liverpool 2-0 Brighton
- Signs on improved coordination between our Β£100M signings
- Winning a game and keeping a clean sheet with 34% possession isnβt your classic Liverpool way but we take it
- Brighton kept at it all game, they will keep snapping big clubs.
- Araujo and Jacquet have added steal to our defence
- Van Dijk and Alisson looked out of place
- Gakpodona was class again

π¨ Jamie Carragher on AraΓΊjoβs MASTERCLASS against Brighton:
ποΈ βI questioned this signing because I thought Liverpool were reacting to a problem. I didnβt realise they were signing a defender who could solve it for the next five years.
The strength, the timing, the composure on the ball, the aggression in the challenges. He won his duels, helped create the opening goal, and defended that right flank like he had a personal contract with the Kop.
Every time Brighton tried to get past him, they ran into a brick wall with football boots. He wasnβt just defending today. He was dominating.
And the confidence? The lad looked like heβd been playing at Anfield for ten years. No panic, no hiding, no nonsense. Just quality after quality.
Barcelona had him sitting behind a teenager, and Liverpool have him looking like one of the best right backs in the league.
I owe the lad an apology. If this is what AraΓΊjo looks like when heβs settling in, I genuinely cannot imagine what heβll look like when heβs fully comfortable.
Liverpool need to make this deal permanent. Yesterday.β
Proper Anfield energy. β€οΈβπ₯
This is the Liverpool I want to see every week. Quick, direct, aggressive and ruthless in front of goal. Wirtz forcing the own goal, Barcola driving at Brightonβs defence and Isak finishing the move perfectly. Weβve looked dangerous every time weβve gone forward.
Brighton can keep the possession. Weβre creating the better moments and making our attacks count. That intensity, confidence and front foot mentality genuinely reminds me of Kloppβs Liverpool.
45 minutes down, another 45 to go. No complacency, finish the job.
THIS is Anfield. YNWA. π΄
