Kernel Hearts — Release Date x Fortnite Outfit Reveal Trailer
Available Everywhere
September 17
Pre-order now on the Epic Games Store and unlock the Fernet Outfit immediately.
Kernel Hearts started as four friends who never made a game before trying hard to make one they could love.
We spoke to the folks at Unreal Engine about the tools that allowed us to make it this far 👇
Developers @Ephemera_Works is an indie studio started by four friends in Argentina, whose roguelike action RPG ‘Kernel Hearts’ sold over 100,000 pre-orders before launch. Hear from the devs on how they built it with core UE systems, and how Epic Online Services and Epic Games Store helped their small team reach players 🧵

More Numbers!
- Kernel Hearts recouped its entire development costs in less than 12 hours after pre-orders went live, a month before the game's release!
- This unique situation led many players to buy the game twice, especially console players who also wanted the Fernet costume

It's been a month since we released Kernel Hearts, and we had one of the most unique launches!
We're one (I believe) of the few non-exclusive games that managed to sell more on the Epic Games Store than on Steam, and for good reason...
People love Fernet!
Here are some numbers:
A month ago, we released Kernel Hearts.
We always knew this game would stay in our hearts forever, but seeing it resonate with so many people has been a dream come true.
Today, we’re celebrating over 160k units sold. That’s life-changing for a small team like ours.
Thank you all for your support! We hope you enjoy what we have in store for November! 💖 ✌️
