Sometimes it really is simple: mental health is one of the largest problems in our culture and we need more meaningful conversations, more innovation and more support systems. Everyone of us can lend a hand or lend our voice. #BellLetsTalk

Bunch of new writing is up on: KevinBreel.Substack.Com Would love for you to read it and share your thoughts. There’s a great community forming there and growing every week. Check it out: KevinBreel.Substack.Com
This is great. Reminds me of words from David Foster Wallace: “If your fidelity to perfectionism is too high, you never do anything. Because doing anything results in- it’s actually kind of tragic, you sacrifice how gorgeous and perfect it is in your head for what it really is”
“The thing that I tell young writers—and a young writer can be any age—is anything you do can be fixed. What you cannot fix is the perfection of a blank page... cause there’s nothing there to fix.” —Neil Gaiman Source: interview with @tferriss

Really excited to now be publishing audio on @substack The idea is to “show my work” and share some of the conversations and context behind what I am publishing. Loving audio as a creative outlet. Hope you enjoy! Give it a listen here: KevinBreel.Substack.Com

Dearest friends: I am writing and publishing brand new work every single week. These aren’t “rough drafts”. They are polished pieces of finished work that took time, attention and energy. Hope you enjoy and get value from it. Read them here: KevinBreel.Substack.Com

People are waking up to the fact mental health is a multi layered problem. It creates challenges for individuals and families. It causes enormous pain and loss. It limits great artists, makers and entrepreneurs. Important to keep pushing the conversation forward. Always.

I wrote a new thing. It’s about chess and life and relationships and other stuff too. Would love your thoughts. Read it here: KevinBreel.Substack.Com

I wrote a new thing. It’s a story about overthinking stuff and fear and how silly our minds can be sometimes. Would love for you to read it: KevinBreel.Substack.Com

Start creating. It feels difficult at first. And then pointless. And then hopeless. But then, that feeling fades away. And you find a way in. Even if it’s tiny. And then you keep going. And then you have something! Which is better than nothing. And that feels good.

Still thinking about this. The new cultural norm seems to be to specialize in outrage and random opinions. The world isn’t perfect. And I really can appreciate people standing up for their beliefs. But I think we still need people doing the work. Creating. It has impact.
Maybe humans love to be outraged simply because, on average, it happens to be a convenient way to channel the energy we should be using to create, make and grow, but likely are procrastinating on or denying. It’s an “acceptable” way to access to our unexpressed lives and energy.

Overthinking is destroying your creativity much more than a lack of skills or talent is destroying your creativity.

Agree. Excited to have teamed up with @substack to share my new work. Bringing simple design and creative control to the publishing space. Brilliant execution of a much needed solution for creators. See for yourself: KevinBreel.Substack.Com
This tweet is proof that I thought @substack would become the next great media company. Highly suggest all content creators consider using it. Substack.com
