A big night for Bryce Nowik in the 800m! Bryce’s finishing time was 1:55.29, setting a new school record and improving his previous PR by 4 seconds. The previous school record was held for 52 years by K. Carlson from 1971.

Many programs have great coaching and great training environments and excellent support systems. It’s the attitude of the athletes that separate the best from the rest.

I have always felt that the biggest disservice a parent can do for their child is to shield them from failure. Failure is such an important learning tool and motivator for future successes.

Pacing is learned & not instinctive.
Ex. when running 1mi repeats in 6min it is important to run 90sec per lap. To run 88-88-92-92 equals 6 minutes but is not the right way to learn pace. I always tell athletes that that is practicing fading & we are already pretty good at that.
Congrats former CCS alumni competing in the Big Tens today! Lynsie Gram and Elizabeth Dalrymple on the winning MSU team and an incredible performance by Brendan Favazza.
