Quality Academy Prep went 3–1 at USL Session One, then came home and kept competing. My takeaway? They played harder, more consistently.
Tonight on Baseline Truths: QAP, my USL Scout Six and what’s next for San Antonio basketball.
Watch right here on X. 🏀 @QAcademyprep @UnitedSummitL @goodvisionhoops @NewWave_Academy
Prepping for my first scouting trip out west! 🏀🌵

Hillcrest Prep @hillcrest_prep film up next. Looking for decision-making, defensive effort, and the little things that impact winning.
The evaluation starts long before I walk into the gym.

Enjoyed United Summit League Session 1.
Plenty of talent, but I’m looking at how the pieces fit.
Here’s my Scout Six—the six guys I’d take from this session to build my team. Roles, chemistry, and what helps win basketball games.
The Scout was Out. Here are the receipts.

One of the realest.
I’m Kevin Howell, founder of The One-Eyed Scout. I evaluate basketball players and help coaches understand who can help them win. I look beyond the highlights—how a player defends, makes decisions, competes, and treats teammates. I also help families understand where their player stands and what needs to improve. My job is to give an honest evaluation and back it up with what I see in the gym.
