Presenting today in DC at the CyberConnect- DC event.
BYOS:
BYOS is a hardware-enforced Secure Edge platform. It microsegments and cloaks OT, FRCS, and legacy assets at the first network hop - outside the asset OS, with no agent or driver on the protected system. Buyers are network and security architects, OT/ICS operators, and federal/defense teams who need isolation on systems that won’t take an agent. What sets them apart from agent-based ZTNA or VLAN-only segmentation: enforcement lives in a physical or embedded Edge, with Secure Lobby for policy-based remote access without exposing those assets to the public internet.
ControlMonkey
ControlMonkey is an AI-powered cyber-resilience and IaC automation platform focused on cloud and SaaS configuration - not application data. It continuously snapshots IAM, DNS, security groups, and SaaS settings, then recovers known-good states, including ClickOps drift that never made it into Terraform. Buyers are cloud platform, DevOps, and DevSecOps teams (and CISOs who care about configuration DR) across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Unlike Rubrik/Veeam-style data backup or Terraform alone, their niche is making the configuration plane recoverable and governable end-to-end.
Cyrebro
Cyrebro is an AI-native managed detection and response offering delivered through a cloud SOC platform that plugs into tools you already run. They cover hunting, monitoring, incident response, and forensics — with optional managed EDR - aimed at CISOs and security ops leaders from SMB through enterprise, plus MSSP partners. In a crowded MDR market, their public differentiation is an interactive owned SOC platform plus detection they describe as proprietary algorithms plus human analysts — not just outsourced alert triage.
QIZ Security
QIZ Security is a cryptography posture and crypto-agility platform: discover, prioritize, remediate, and govern enterprise crypto assets while preparing for post-quantum transition. Buyers are CISOs, compliance, and application owners in regulated environments drowning in crypto sprawl and PQC mandates. They are not another CNAPP or cert-lifecycle tool - the niche is cryptography inventory and posture with an API-first, agentless integration pitch into the enterprise fabric. Scale claims (years in PQC, org counts) are purely company-stated.
Tier4
Tier4 AI is autonomous detection and response - MDR outcomes on the endpoint, identity, email, and cloud tools you already have, with 24×7 human expert backup when escalation is required. Primary buyers are MSPs and MSSPs who want multi-tenant MDR without a rip-and-replace, plus security teams modernizing the SOC without building one from scratch. Versus legacy MDR, their public materials emphasize autonomous investigation plus service-provider economics and fast standup on existing stacks : outcomes, not DIY SOAR playbooks.
Zafran
Zafran is an AI-native Continuous Threat Exposure Management platform: unify vulnerability findings, prove what is actually exploitable in context, and mobilize mitigation through controls you already own. Buyers are enterprise CISOs and vulnerability/exposure owners buried in scanner noise across hybrid estates. Classic scanners score CVEs; Zafran’s wedge is CTEM operationalization — exploitability and compensating controls first, then agentic remediation with human-in-the-loop guardrails.
Talk to them after, kick the tires, you be the judge. Reply if you want a direct intro. #breachtank #cyberbreakfastclub #cyberconnectDC

David Friedberg: We’ve Lost the Plot on Immigration
“If you're providing social services to an immigrant population, then that's not necessarily a productive immigrant population in terms of being able to contribute to growing the economy and supporting civil society.
But if a population of immigrants come in and they're productive, meaning they can get jobs and they can work, and they can support themselves, that means they're adding something positive to the economy, to the civil society, and that is the sort of selection criteria that needs to take place.
So that's a simple framework for determining whether or not you should do this, and an easy way to solve it is get rid of social services for immigrants.
As soon as you get rid of social services for immigrants, then you self-select into the right population that's going to come in.
It's not about assimilating to society. It's about sharing the values of what makes the United States, the United States.
The values of, what do we actually care about, what are the principles that we all share as a civil society of the United States or a civil society of France, is a screening criteria that seems to have been thrown out the window.”
Jason:
“Do you believe in Freedom of speech? Do you believe in the Second Amendment?”
Friedberg:
“Do you believe that women are equal to men?
Do you believe that you should work for your money as opposed to take it from the government?
Do you believe in your individual rights?
Is your church paramount to the government and the laws of the state?
And do you believe that other people have rights that you don't get to trample on?
Those are the sorts of things that are, in many cases, counter to the cultural, religious, and other traditional beliefs of certain populations that end up causing the damage in the West, and I think that it's been kind of completely lost in the process.”

Jensen reveals he first met the Founder of TSMC by cold calling their number off Yellow Pages
"I heard about this company in Taiwan, TSMC and UMC at the time. They were of course quite poor companies themselves, and they were barely making it."
"TSMC was probably about $300 million, something like that. It's a tiny little company. I heard about Morris Chang. And so I tried to call their US office."
"Back in the old days there were yellow pages. I looked it up, TSMC. There's a number there. I called their number and it's a recording. I left my name and my number and said a few things about NVIDIA: we're a new startup company building computer graphics chips. I called several times. Nobody called me back."
"And so I finally wrote a letter to Morris Chang. Didn't hear anything for a long time, and then one day it was 6 o'clock or something, this person called and said 'this is Morris Chang from TSMC.'"
"And meanwhile, everybody outside my office was playing video games and they're all laughing and screaming. 'Hey shut up! It's Morris!' I was so happy that the founder would actually call us back, because hey, maybe we won't have to die."
"And so we talked and he invited me to Taiwan. I came back to Taiwan, and that was the start of everything. Not just that partnership, but just the whole industry."

Anthropic says it has reduced the data harvested from Claude in distillation attacks by around 90–99%. I congratulate them on this achievement.
It’s consistent with the point I made a few months ago (All-In Ep. 282): Anthropic, not the government, was in the best position to stop distillation of its own models. Once the horse is out of the barn, there’s limited value in after-the-fact government action.
At the time there was a major push in Washington to restrict open models on IP grounds. The threat looked serious enough that 50 companies — including Nvidia, Microsoft, Meta, IBM, Palantir, and Dell — published an open letter in defense of open-weight models. Jensen Huang promoted it in his first-ever X post. Nearly 200 startups sent a similar letter.
I argued that restricting open models risked removing the incentive for closed-model companies to solve the problem themselves — and could reward negligence by stifling competition while they continued collecting revenue from distillation. The administration did not impose those restrictions.
Now we see the result. Anthropic invested in defenses and they worked. Not every technical challenge is a reason to run to Washington for new regulation.
Oh🫰! Short Verizon 😂

Last year the same labs, politicians, NGOs, and media outlets now pushing the extinction hoax were running a full-scale campaign that AI would cause a jobs apocalypse.
We were told it would be a “white-collar bloodbath,” 10–20% unemployment, half of entry-level jobs gone. Obama amplified it.
Over a year later: unemployment at 4.1%. No economy-wide displacement. A million new jobs created by AI, says The Economist. Anthropic’s own chief economist says the data looks like skill augmentation, not job destruction.
So, any admission by the doomer labs, politicians, and NGOs that they were wrong? Any humility about scaring the public with wild extrapolations dressed up as forecasts? Nope.
They just move on to the next hoax, with the same false certitude and fake precision.
🚨 Anthropic Chief Economist Peter McCrory Says AI Job Loss Predictions Are Not Panning Out
“What I see in our data is that [AI] looks more like a skill-biased labor augmenting technology than a technology that outright automates and displaces displaces jobs wholesale … Based on the Department of Labor's taxonomy … there's no job where every single task is being automated by Claude.”

Nvidia’s OpenShell announcement is a reminder that agent safety is an engineering problem.
Recent breakouts weren’t proof that development must stop. They were proof that the sandbox was too weak. The runtime environment was poorly designed and misconfigured.
The right response is open runtime isolation, control of the path to the model, out-of-band hardware enforcement, and a faster pace of safety work with the frontier labs.
As the technical blog puts it: “We believe we need to increase the pace of AI safety research and engineering in collaboration with frontier labs and the broader community.”
That’s how you earn trust. Not by virtue-signaling a pause, and not by acting like no solution exists.
Today, with over 100 industry partners, we introduced the NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform, bringing together OpenShell and Sentry.
Artificial intelligence is extraordinary technology that will advance discovery, productivity, security, health, and prosperity for generations to come.
But its full promise can only be realized when people have confidence that AI is being built to be safe and deployed with wisdom and responsibility.
This is bigger than a single product. It's the beginning of an open ecosystem to build the trust layer for safe agent systems.
Together, we are building the foundation of the AI economy.
Trust and innovation are not in conflict. Safety is how trust is earned. We must build not only the most capable AI, but the most trusted AI, so that this extraordinary technology can realize its enormous promise for the world. nvda.ws/4hcoq7m

Thanks, Peter! This is the beginning of the end for destructive wildfires. In a country that loses ~$500B every year to wildfires, even tiny gains make for huge savings, to say nothing of the incalculable value of lives and homes.
Congrats to @PalmerLuckey and Anduril for winning the Wildfire XPRIZE - for detecting and suppressing a wildfire within 10 minutes of ignition!
