Maybe u want to follow me on my regular twitter @ChristensenSG. Plus u can follow my co-hikers Rory @RoryCullen or Chris @RestroomDirect.
Okay. You probably figured out that there ain't no more tweets about Kilimanjaro since we have been home about 7 weeks.
Excited to be on WGIR AM 610 Thursday morning between 8 and 9 with Jack Heath. Will be discussing Kili hike and summit.
On our last day, guides/porters sang traditional hiking songs (in Swahili of course) to congratulate us on our trek.
Here are 2 bearded boys glad to be in NH on Sunday. Not sure about Brian, but I was shaven & in a suit Tues AM.
Pic of 1st summit hit. Gilman's point. It was jubilant. Hit it @ 4:30 am. Then hiked 90 min higher to Uhuru Peak.
Head home today after 2 day safari. We all look forward to lives back "under the clouds". Will tweet pics when back in US.
Me: exhilarating, fulfilling. Brian: "I'm an atty & can't describe the trip in a few words. Need to write a brief".
Words to describe hike. Chris: challenging, exciting, dusty. Paul: indescribable/incredible accomplishment. Rory: brutal.
Headed back to hotel for a beer/shower. I'd tweet a few pics but they won't come thru. Safari tomorrow! Will be nice to sleep in a bed.
Our team just left our guides @ the base of Kili. It was sad to leave our new Tanzanian friends. Memories of them will last a long time.
Our crew summitted at sunrise! It was a beautiful morning. We started hiking at midnight. Finished at 11:30 AM. Long, exhilarating day.
Views are spectacular. Days are beautiful. Our crew is awesome. Chris got his bag on day 2. We are at 15,300 feet. Approx 4000 to go.
Don't believe all you read. Cell service is bad on Kili! Our crew is all well. Anxious and ready to summit.
We leave camp at 12 am local to summit at 6 am-sunrise. Or 11 pm EST. We underestimated the cold nights. 22 degrees the other night.
