Looks like I'm going to have 7,000 videos edited by the end of 2021! What an achievement!

stop naming videos in the pipeline with the title they could have. on daily-upload channels Discord turns into a mess: titles change before upload niches reuse titles give each video an ID like a barcode. if the title changes the ID never moves.

people use 'you and I' to sound professional and get it completely wrong. drop the other person to test it: The client emailed me The client emailed I if you would never say 'the client emailed I' you never say 'the client emailed you and I'.

managing daily-upload channels you watch creators burn through editors every 3 months. they expect an editor on Discord to cover: Script adjustments Fast cuts Motion graphics Sound design Packaging the editor didn't fail. the pipeline did.

managing daily-upload channels you see teams burn budget on production then hold an upload to fix tiny details. delays break the pipeline: Files back up Deadlines slip The workflow turns to chaos if you stall the schedule chasing minor polish you lose the whole schedule to triage.

building in public on daily upload channels sounds great until your Discord explodes. viewers do not care about backend stats: Thumbnail concepts Community tab polls Title options if you build the premise in public viewers watch the upload to see their idea win.

video production on Slack is painful. on Discord it's chaos. teams lose hours every week: Hunting down the latest render Untangling feedback threads Checking which asset link is current if your pipeline lives in chat you're losing half your week to search bars.

youtube quietly rolled shorts views into public longform view counts. some channels look like they grew 40% overnight. open Studio and the longform numbers haven't moved. public metrics lie. the backend doesn't.

Patrick Bet-David said MrBeast lost 50% of his views. MrBeast fired back saying people don't understand how evergreen content accrues views over time. managing daily upload channels you see this constantly: creators obsess over the first 48 hours the back catalog tells a completely different story. if you only look at launch spikes you're missing half the channel.

i built a browser mafia game called CrimeBloc. every update i ship i watch what people actually do vs what i thought they'd do. turns out that's the exact same loop as reading youtube retention graphs. you think an idea is genius and players just skip right past it.

daily youtube channels rarely miss upload deadlines because of slow editing. the delay is almost always the handoff: Footage dropped with no title or packaging Assets missing from the handoff Review notes arriving late the cut was already finished.
