Today Australia ABSTAINED once again on this important UN resolution expressing concern about the harm caused by nuclear weapons. Deeply disappointing given @AlboMP's stated support for disarmament and calls by Australian nuclear test survivors for a stronger position.
In the past, Australia has abstained from voting on an annual UN General Assembly resolution that expresses deep concern about the harm caused by nuclear weapons. Today at the UN it should change its position and join 140+ countries in voting yes. @AusArmsControl @SenatorWong

An outstanding @mrseankelly piece noting media failure, dishonest & dishonourable campaigning, callousness of heart, and epic voter self-delusion.

I’ve just returned Freon hearing an articulate, Harvard educated indigenous man talking about growing up in remote WA and then about how the Voice will reduce division and start healing. Then I see this on the way home……sad

‘a whole new government focus on child development and wellbeing’.
Carefully chosen words explaining why a Minister for Children has been appointed in Victoria.
This is what we need nationally to deliver co-ordinated reform to systems failing our children.
Great to see the introduction of a Minister for Children in the @VicGovAu new Cabinet announced today.
Absolutely essential! Great to see the needs of children being focused on & described as a ‘major new policy priority’. Congratulations Lizzie Blandthorn.
