I'm experimenting with Gaussian splatting for interactive, real-time 3D comparisons of #KCD locations. First test is quite promising but I'll need to get better footage for higher detail splats.
Both trained on my 4070, ~20 min. each. For the IRL one I used this drone video (with permission): youtu.be/b69aLfmUcDA. Shot from quite far away without a lot of different angles and inconsistent lighting, that's why it's a lot blurrier than the KCD one.
The third and last map (so far) is now available on kingdomcompare.com
85 new interactive 360° comparisons of locations from the Trosky region in #KCD2 and the real life Bohemian Paradise.
Progress update for the Trosky region:
About 70% of the panoramas are done. I'm also working on some UI/UX improvements for this update. I don't have much time to work on it right now, but I hope to still be able to finish it by mid- to late October.

The Sasau region is now available on kingdomcompare.com/sasau!
114 new locations from the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance game to compare to their real life counterparts in 360° panoramas.

I spent the last two days capturing the Trosky region panos in the Bohemian Paradise. Now a couple of days in Prague and then back home to finish the Sasau region.

Making good progress on the KCD 1 map. There’ll be around 110 panoramas, which is more than I expected, so I’ll probably delay the release to early September. I also want to go to Czechia next week to capture the Trosky region panos, but the weather forecast doesn’t look great...
Released two small performance updates this week (no new content yet). Panoramas should now load much quicker and use less data, especially on mobile devices and screens with 1440p or below. The map also uses less data and URLs are a lot shorter.
