Lakini Survival Math ya Eldoret achana nayo
I have just remembered at time like this last year I had an assignment in Eldoret and I was staying in an Airbnb. On day 2, Supper time came and I decided to step out to see what I could get after a long tedious day.
I found a watchman manning the building outside the gate standing. I said hi to him and he responded warmingly.
Immediately I noticed accent ni ya mouth. I went on to ask him in Kalenjin if there was a restaurant nearby that offers local meals. I was craving ugali matumbo. He said yes and offered to show me the place. It was just about 200 metres away.
Next to the apartment there was a kinda 3 star hotel and warned me not to go there. He told me tea is 200 bob. Ground that is very expensive na kuna local ya 30-50bob😄. In his expression, I knew he was from the tribe that largerly occupies view point
We arrived at the the joint and he told me he will be sitted at the back near the door to watch news. I sat near the counter cause it was a bit cold. I orded ugali, matumbo and of course TEA guys to keep me warm.
I then told the waiter to go ask the man what he will take. The waiter came back told me smilingly he has said he wil have Ugali+Fry, and tea. However, since he had taken his supper, he will take tea and chapati, but the Ugali+Fry be carried forward to tomorrow 😄. Sharp man
I nodded to him at the back with sawa. Ate, paid and went back to the Airbnb. The rest of the days I spent there man gave me huge smiles each time I walked in jioni. Hesabu ya watu wa Eldoret achana nayo

Before you start complaining about your situation, spare a few seconds to watch this young lady who operates a mkokoteni. She has named the donkey after Sifuna, saying she is inspired by Omwami. She is hardworking, and you can tell she has a good heart. Yesterday, she was empowered by @shikshaarora_, courtesy of @StanbicKE.
Despite her circumstances, she dreams of becoming a lawyer. This story is heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. Uplifting one life at a time. Brayo the Biker was her destiny connector. May the world be kind to her & ease the burden.

Many people from Aldai who are in the police force some retired, some still in service got an opportunity to serve there because of Cherambos the Former GSU commandant.
Cherambos ensured that every year during police recruitment more than 20 households recieved a state letter for either a son or daughter to join the Police force.
The man is very respectable figure in Aldai upto date.
He gave back to the society .
