It now transpires that a massive ammunitions factory & explosive storage complex is being proposed next to the Auchtertool Hyperscale Data Centre, which is proposed for the rural, picturesque, 1,000 year old Scottish village. The military-industrial complex has landed and is expanding across Scotland. Scotland does not need or want this. Labour Fife Council & SNP ScotGov are in cahoots with the developers. The SNP ScotGov gave the nod to the 'green' data centre location two years ago (Kate Forbes signed it). A review of data centres is currently under review by ScotGov. The SNP Scottish Government is consulting with big tech, property developers and councils as part of this Data Centre review. However, It is not consulting with communities, and refuses to do so despite numerous requests. Communities are not given the access to government that the money-men are getting. The dice are loaded, the game is fixed, our government & institutions are broken. The people have no voice in this grinding system of government. The SNP & Labour parties are no longer parties of the people. They are full of inept & corrupt 'professional' politicians who have lost touch with the people they are supposed to serve. An ammunitions factory, explosive storage complex, a 600MW data centre, all sitting on top of one of the biggest gas pipes in the UK... what could possibly go wrong? 🤷‍♂️
The children of Auchtertool made this video to tell us how they feel about the hyper scale data center planned for our village. Please take a few minutes to watch it. But this isn't an Auchtertool problem - it's a Scottish one. The proposed data centre would need roughly half the power currently used by every home in Scotland combined. Who is paying to build all that extra capacity? It would also swallow huge amounts of water, and take much-needed farming land out of the food chain, which we all rely on. And to be clear - this isn't about being "anti-Al". A data centre like this powers the everyday: your photo storage, your online shopping, and yes, Al too. The question isn't whether we need infrastructure. It's how we build it safely, and sustainably. And how the people of Scotland benefit from it. At this scale, the only obvious winner is the developer. It's not obvious what the tangible benefits are for the people of Scotland. If you think a project this big deserves to be properly thought through, visit our village website to find out more and object. auchtertoolvillage.com

PIPER TO THE END A moving song by the legendary Scots born Geordie Mark Knopfler. "The song is about Knopfler's uncle Freddie who was a piper of the 1st Battalion, Tyneside Scottish, the Black Watch, Royal Highland Regiment. Freddie carried his pipes into action in World War II and was killed with fellow fighters at Ficheux, near Arras in the north of France in May 1940. He was just 20 years old." 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙⚔️🎶

👇 & the SNP wonders why the Yes movement has decoupled from the SNP. 🤦‍♂️ 👇 A typical SNP cult response to anyone who highlights shortcomings. If they respond like this to those who believe in independence, how must "soft No's" feel'? The SNP is now incapable of uniting enough Scots to build a better nation.

Stay overseas then, this govt does its best with limited finances and powers. So many boring, factless and vaccuous statements :- "Transport brief adrift" 🤣 " ...education in decline" pish ! "Shoddy workmanship...." seriously wtf are you on about ? 😅

Well done Bapak Mirwan, a really good message for other Owners putting fans first.............proud initiative from the Indonesian Owners
🔵⚪️ Como president Mirwan Suwarso and club directors are giving up their Champions League seats for the UCL debut game against Leipzig. Suwarso announced they prefer the seats to go to Como supporters born in 1950 or earlier, those who have followed the club through every era to celebrate this historical UCL debut.

Totally agree, it would be a disaster
Watching this video, and understanding that Auchtertool has sustained itself as a welcoming community, for all, for over 800 years - culture, heritage, community - and all I could think was, "You know what this place needs? This place needs a hyperscale data centre!" ... said no Scot, ever! 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A lot has been written about the monstrous data centre proposed for Auchtertool. Much of it focusing (rightly) on the people, energy, water & the greenfield environment. However, it is also worth considering a different dimension - heritage, culture & community... soil & soul as Alastair McIntosh might say. By way of example, 4 yrs ago, the Auchtertool Community planted these 36 rowan trees (below) as an avenue on the path up to Auchtertool Kirk, where our war memorial sits. Each tree representing one of the 36 men of the parish who died during the wars. 33 in WWI, 3 in WWII. 36 men from a village of 600 people. 💔 The first recorded service at the church was 1178 and there has been regular worship here ever since. It was almost certainly a site of worship long before this date... a ley line, a 'thin place'. It is atmospheric. How does our Kirk, our memorial, our place of peace exist with a hyper data centre humming & glowering over it from the neighbouring fields? This wee corner of Scotland may not have the marketing of St Andrew's, castle of Edinburgh or the folklore of Loch Ness, but there is a humble dignity in a community that has sustained itself, and others, for over 800 years. In living memory Auchtertool has hosted Polish refugee camps during WWII to Ukrainian refugees in the current war. It is a welcoming, resilient community that endures. The Auchtertool community epitomises the ethos of Jock Tamson's bairns, or to put it in more contemporary words - you can't choose where you were born, but you can choose who you stand with. Auchtertool is a place of peace. This centuries old place of peace is, ironically, worth fighting for. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙🙏⚖️🕊

After The Open, Susan and I had the wonderful privilege of playing the Old Course with a few close friends. What a thrill to share such a special experience at St. Andrews, the Home of Golf, where the 18-hole game as we know it began in 1764. I shot 71, even with a double bogey on the famous Road Hole at the 17th. At 90 years young, what a blessing to continue playing this great game on the most famous golf course in the world. I am enormously grateful. GP

Totally agree. Great steaks and a few nice beers
The magnificent Balgove Larder (St Andrews, Fife). One of the best farm shops in Scotland. Fresh food, straight from the local farm. The meat counter is glorious. And the steak barn is fantastic. Worth a visit if you are ever in the area. Buy local farm food.

Good summary on crypto in indonesia
I spent time on the ground in Jakarta over the last few days and came away more convinced that it will play a growing and significant role in the internet financial system  In many ways it already is; Indonesia has extremely high crypto and stablecoin adoption.  Hard to think otherwise after meeting so many leading entrepreneurs and innovators.  @williamsutanto of @indodax has built Indonesia's largest crypto assets platform.  @CalvinKizana and @sndyc of Tokocrypto operate one of Indonesia’s leading platforms, focused on delivering simple, secure, and seamless crypto trading and transactions. The @mobee_id team is focused on providing seamless access to digital asset trading and liquidity through an easy-to-use platform for both individuals and businesses.  It was so great to spend time again with Vince Iswara, founder and CEO of @danawallet, which continues to improve the financial wellbeing of so many through innovation, and is the largest digital wallet platform in Indonesia.   @pangxuekai and his team @ICExGroup have built an OJK-licensed bourse for digital assets, operating Indonesia’s integrated exchange alongside clearing and custody infrastructure.  @archie_anugrah, @andyputra, @ririnadani and the whole team @PintuID have built a mobile-first digital asset platform that serves millions and has been innovating in the space from the early days. Natasha Ardiani and the team at Durianpay are laser focused on making payments seamless across the entire ecosystem. The Lippo Group and Nobu Bank are thinking deeply about the digital future at one of Asia’s largest diversified conglomerates and digital bank, clearly poised to continue the firm’s legacy as an industry pioneer in Indonesia and beyond. jeth_soetoyo of CFX and I first met in 2018 before Circle had even launched USDC! It’s impressive what he did with Pintu and is now doing with @cfx_id, a licensed bourse that is on a mission to accelerate the adoption of digital assets. I got to meet with him and leaders from ICC, KKI and IKS.  @D3Labsdotio is a secure and compliant asset tokenization infrastructure for asset issuance, management, and transactions. taking an innovative approach to tokenization and real world assets. It was great to meet Chung Ying Lai and Tigran Adiwirya. They have a deep commitment to the local crypto community!  Very strong energy across the board, excited about what we can do together and the potential for growth in this highly dynamic market.
