Great dinner with current and former trainees of my mentor Tim Ley, who will receive the Stratton Medal tomorrow from @ASH_hematology #ASH2022. This field is all about mentor/mentee relationships and the communities they build.

Relapse is common in children with acute myeloid leukemia and can be complicated to treat. Researchers at St. Jude found a mutation in AML that can be used to stratify high-risk patients and better guide treatment. bit.ly/3T05ARV @OncologyTimes @BCD_AACR @KlcoLab
Check out our recent collaborative work co-led by Masayuki Umeda. We identified a new AML subtype with CBFB alteration. @BloodJournal @StJudeResearch
Reanalysis of 553 pediatric #AML #WTS led to the identification of a new AML subtype with recurrent 9bp insertions in exon 3 of CBFB. The GEP of cases with CBFBins was similar to CBFB::MYH11 AML but had a more stem-like signature (BCL2L14, MEIS1, HOXA). doi.org/10.1182/blood.202201…
