In a special video message to the 144th Supreme Convention, Pope Leo XIV calls on Knights to actively cultivate unity, practice charity and become “prophets of harmony” in their families, parishes and communities. He also expresses his gratitude for the Order’s enduring service to those in need and imparts his Apostolic Blessing upon all Knights and their families. The Knights of Columbus receive the Holy Father’s message with gratitude and reaffirm our steadfast loyalty to him and to the Church. Vivat Jesus! Read the full text here: kofc.org/popeleo/

Today, we celebrate the Feast of St. John Paull II, and The Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, D.C., is marking the occasion with something new! To complement the pilgrim experience, the Knights just dedicated a beautiful new retreat house with an official ribbon cutting. Designed for spiritual renewal and growth, this center allows pilgrims to step away from daily life and enter into deep prayer. Watch to explore the quiet chapel, sacred artwork, and peaceful spaces built for both individuals and Catholic groups. @JP2Shrine

“If you want Peace, work for Justice.” — St. Paul VI Peace is built through choices that honor the dignity of others and seek what is right, even when doing so costs us something. Christian men are called to be peacemakers who are also willing to stand for justice. Where can you help bring greater fairness, reconciliation or peace today?

“If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world ablaze!” — St. Catherine of Siena God does not ask us to be someone else before he can use us. He asks us to become the men he created us to be: faithful, courageous, prayerful and ready to serve. What is one way you can live your vocation more fully today?

“Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.” — Matthew 22:21 In today’s Gospel, Jesus is presented with a trap disguised as a question. His answer points beyond the coin in His hand to something much greater: what belongs to God? The coin bears Caesar’s image, but every human person bears the image of God. Our lives belong to Him. Our choices, our work, our relationships, and our responsibilities should reflect that truth. Giving God what belongs to Him means offering Him our whole selves. 🙏 Lord, remind us that we are made in Your image and belong to You. Help us honor You in every part of our lives.

Following the 9/11 attacks, 38 aircraft carrying 6,800 passengers were diverted to a small Canadian town. Facing an unprecedented crisis, the Knights of Columbus opened their council hall to host over 150 stranded travelers, organized daily meals, and coordinated housing with local families. See how an unexpected tragedy brought out the absolute best in human nature through an incredible act of charity.

In today’s world, there’s no doubt: Men need authentic brotherhood, and families need holy husbands and fathers. That’s why the Knights of Columbus joined attendees at the Catholic Family Life Association Conference in Charleston, South Carolina, over Oct. 8-10. The conference works to equip those in family and marriage ministry with the tools and spiritual renewal they need to support healthy, holy families. The Knights of Columbus offers ready-made programs and resources to strengthen Catholic men, their families and their parishes. It’s always a privilege to connect with others who share that vision. Together, we can build parish communities rooted in faith, hope and the enduring love of Jesus Christ. Photo by Allon Holandez.

“Whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant.” — Matthew 20:26 Jesus gives us a model of leadership rooted in service. True leadership isn’t measured by recognition or status, but by our willingness to put the needs of others before our own. Every act of service gives us an opportunity to follow the example of Christ. Where is God inviting you to serve today?

(Version francaise ci-dessous). Today is the memorial of St. Marguerite d'Youville, founder of the Sisters of Charity--later known as the Grey Nuns--in Canada. Born in 18th century Varennes, Quebec, she became a widow just eight years after getting married and worked hard to care for her three children. She founded the Grey Nuns who took over managing the General Hospital of Montreal, and established many schools, orphanages and hospitals in North and South America. She was known for her business skills, piety, and devotion to the poor. St. Marguerite d'Youville, pray for us!

Knights of Columbus leaders from several jurisdictions participated in the annual National Columbus Day Ceremony on Oct. 12 at the Christopher Columbus Memorial Fountain in Washington, D.C., commemorating the 534th anniversary of Columbus’ arrival in the Americas. Auxiliary Bishop Gary Studniewski of Washington, a past state chaplain of the District of Columbia, led the opening prayer at the event, sponsored by the National Christopher Columbus Association and the National Park Service. The Order successfully advocated for the construction of the memorial, which was dedicated in 1912 at a ceremony that included an address by President William Howard Taft. The memorial underwent a major restoration earlier this year. --------- Photos by Matthew Barrick 1. Severe flash flooding triggered by recent Kona storms left a trail of extensive damage across homes, roads, and local utilities. The Knights of Columbus mobilized immediately to provide critical water and power supplies. To fuel the relief efforts, the Supreme Council rushed disaster funding to the Hawaii State Council, enabling swift distribution of emergency supplies and repair funds directly to the hardest-hit communities and parishes.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear.” — Deuteronomy 31:6 Courage doesn’t mean we never experience fear or uncertainty. It means we remember who goes with us and choose to move forward in faith. Whatever challenge you are facing today, you do not face it alone. Lord, give us courage to trust you and do what is right.
