Campbell made the right decision with this one.
Going to for it on 4th and 5 near the goal line earlier in the fourth quarter was much more questionable, imo.
Both the @NextGenStats model and ESPN Analytics model strongly recommended that Detroit GO on 4th and 1 from their own 24.
The key here is the time on the clock. Lions are extremely likely to get another possession with over 4 minutes left on the clock.

Lane Kiffin used some caution with Trey'Dez Green in his first game back from a knee injury.
Kiffin said he pulled LSU's star TE because Auburn defenders were using a "hip-drop" tackling technique (legal in the NCAA, banned in the NFL) during the game.

When going for it doesn’t work, everybody loses their mind.
But when it does work, the decision doesn’t get enough credit.
Kiffin went for it on 4th and 2 at #LSU’s own 30 and it resulted in a touchdown. The risk is worth it, more times than not.
That third down sack can’t happen for Auburn. #LSU only sent three with Ty Benefield acting as a spy.
And yet, Brown was running for his life and Benefield took him down.
Auburn let Bryan Brown air it out on their second drive and it worked.
Brown got the ball out of his hands quick and Golesh did a nice job of scheming it up. #LSU seems totally honed in on Brown as a runner.

Not a bad opening drive for #LSU. It didn’t stall until Auburn began stuffing the run in the red zone.
LSU has to run it better in the red zone to avoid the same fate.
