Yo! @KomlaMC’s ‘Save Yourself’ is somehow the top post on subreddit #listentothis right now — thanks to whoever posted that! Loving the little debate about what genre it is, we really struggled with that too 😂@Reddit is brilliant. #NewMusicFriday reddit.com/r/listentothis/co…

Komla MC set out to make UK Drill for people who prefer a blend of humour, social consciousness and wordplay over dope, dubby beats and an African Gospel style chorus. Specific? Perhaps, and we believe he succeeded: open.spotify.com/track/22Nbr… #NewMusic #NewMusic2023 #NewMusicDaily

So @KomlaMC’s whole thing is to embrace the new vanguard of hip hop and add the perspective of a grown up who has been through life’s trials and tribulations. To marry the old with the new. On ‘Save Yourself’ you can hear Dub fused with Drill and even elements of African Gospel.
