I keep seeing โthe Red War lawsuitโ brought up since the Unvaulting announcement and itโs been annoying my last few remaining brain cells, soโฆ
Bungie couldnโt submit the legacy build of Red War as an exhibit to the Court because Bungie โcannot feasibly provide the Court with the original Destiny 2 game as it existed in 2017โ. Mind you, this was at very early stages of the lawsuit (which was obviously a sham to anyone with half a brain. The plaintiff Martineau waited 7 YEARS to file after he knew the campaign was no longer playable??) prior to discovery during a motion to dismiss from Bungie. Unvaulting Red War (what Bungie is doing now) would not have been an acceptable exhibit for the judge as โoriginal workโ since itโll undergo TONS OF CHANGES to make it playable with D2โs updated underlying framework.
Also, Project Sunrise โmoddersโ said that players would never be able truly play Red War but instead explore it a little, which also would not have been accepted by a judge in a copyright case at that stage.
Everything else about Fanfest and Evercold was cool as hell. I am VERY excited and until something in the game actually turns me off, I will continue to enjoy it. Really looking forward to see how evolved combat works and trying out the new jobs. 14 is BACK!
Idk man I think this change is kinda whatever. Some people like it, some don't. Does it "fix" the issues? No. But mostly because there is no single common issue, as much as people want to think there is. End of the day, stop yelling and just wait to play it. Its not that serious.

Over the last couple weeks, I have learned that 90% of Deadlock opinions here on twitter about balance, OP new heroes, map design, or macro can be immediately ignored because these people spend all their time complaining instead of actually learning the game. Actually get good.
While this isn't optimal, the fact that it is even possible AND can potentially set up your side for a huge early advantage is so fucking cool and the reason why Deadlock should remain the way it is. The variety of play from match to match is so fun.
