Verizon's CEO said today that SpaceX will need at least 4-6 years and $300B-$500B to fully build out its @Starlink Mobile U.S. carrier network: "Their service just can't compete with a terrestrial network. In suburban and urban areas, where 98% of our revenues are, we're somewhere between 100x–1,000x more efficient than they are. We know exactly what they're going to do. We know who they're talking to on towers. There's no magic wand. There's no secret sauce. There's no shortcut. They're going to look at 65,000–80,000 macro sites. They're going to need backhaul, RAN, and a tremendous amount of spectrum. It's going to take a minimum of four to six years to fully build that out. It's going to cost hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars, I assume somewhere between $300 billion and $500 billion. Then they need to build retail, customer service, back office systems, et cetera. All of that gets them basically the same network and same capabilities and same cost structure as what we have today. Then sometime over the next four to six years, they have the possibility of becoming the sixth, not the fourth, the sixth competitor in the market. You can be sure over these next three to five years or six years, we are not going to be standing still. Four to five years from now, we will be two to three generations better than where we are today. We will have high-speed broadband gig-plus coverage across the country with our millimeter wave. We are ahead of most people and already experimenting with what 6G applications will look like." (via Verizon's Q3 earnings call earlier this morning)

I was literally STUNNED - back in 2016. One of the biggest disappointments of my life, truly.
I never really knew how many fucking stupid, uneducated people lived in this country until Donald Trump came along.

Obama may actually be a 4d chessmaster, getting this idiot to spend the last week telling everyone about all the expensive interior decorating he's been doing while gas in $4-5 bucks a gallon.
Trump appears hurt by Obama's Cheesecake Factory joke: I've taken care of the White House. I have fixed it with the finest artisans in the world. The exterior plaster was broken, cracked. And the painting was terrible. I've re-skinned the building beautifully. The White House is beautiful.

Donald, you just spent more than a thousand words explaining why Bill Maher isn’t worth your time. You reviewed the dinner, disputed how long it lasted, complained about the laughter, questioned his ratings, cataloged everyone who supposedly begged you to meet him, and announced you won’t bother fact-checking anything he said because he’s simply not worth the effort. That’s an extraordinary amount of effort to declare someone irrelevant. And my personal favorite? You insist Maher desperately wants your approval while composing what amounts to a dissertation on why you no longer want to be friends. Donald, you’re the President of the United States. There’s a war with Iran, Americans are struggling with rising prices, and your administration is embroiled in multiple legal disputes. But apparently, the pressing national emergency is whether a comedian likes you. You’ve managed to turn the Oval Office into the world’s most expensive Yelp complaint department. Imagine having the nuclear codes and spending Sunday evening writing a thousand-word breakup letter to Bill Maher. And then signing it “President Donald J. Trump” as though that somehow makes the whole thing less embarrassing.

For years now, Patrick Mahomes has been running for his life and doing amazing gymnastics only for the receiver to drop the pass or not get open. It's not Mahomes. We've already seen what the greatest QB and 3 time super bowl champion and MVP can do when everyone else does their job. Cyrus Allen was the leading wide receiver with 18 yards.

Hozier called on the Irish government to approve visa applications for students in Gaza during a surprise appearance at the first show of Macklemore’s “Free Palestine” tour: “55 students in Gaza who are awaiting for their visas to be approved for scholarship places they earned and are waiting for them here in Ireland. And the government has no approved their visa applications… It’s baffling why it hasn’t been solved yet, but if you want to sign a petition, there it is behind me on the screen.”

Cheyenne Jackson has launched the "One Job Away" campaign on Instagram, which spotlights actors on the verge of losing their SAG-AFTRA health insurance if they don't meet the guild's annual minimum of $28,000 in earnings. • Jackson received "hundreds" of submissions in the less than 24 hours after launching the campaign. • Last year, Jackson was "one gig short of getting my insurance." He reached out to friend Kathy Bates to see if she could get him any role on "Matlock" because he was just $6,000 away from meeting the guild's minimum to qualify for health insurance. • “She told me, ‘I have good news and bad news for you. The good news is, I got you a role on “Matlock.” The bad news is, you have five lines and you don’t have a name.’ I was like, ‘Sign me up! No ego amigo here.’ I played no-name detective. I searched a crime scene and I said, ‘Hey, Sergeant, we got some blood over here.’” • Jackson tells Variety: "The bigger conversation is just the way that residuals and SAG are set up. I make OK money on residuals, but a lot of that residual does not go toward your SAG dues. You’re essentially starting over every year. An actor can make $500,000 one year, but when they don’t make much the next year, the $500,000 doesn’t help with the following year’s health insurance minimum.” variety.com/2026/film/column…
