𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋. What can we even say about this football team? Collectively, we may have the youngest roster in the CHSAA 3A state football playoffs (don’t quote us, but we will look into it.) And while experience is something we are gaining every day, tonight, The Brand was on full display. With 18.6 seconds left on the clock and the season on the line, the Pueblo South defense stood tall and held off the Berthoud Spartans to advance to the next round of the 3A playoffs. We saw huge contributions in all 3 phases with a rushing touchdown from Julio Araujo-Espinosa (@Julio9Araujo), a passing TD from MJ Molina (@MJ_Molina13) to Landen Cordova (@landen_cordova) and a kickoff return to start the second half. Defensively Desmond Burton notched his 5th INT of the season. We are going to enjoy this one and get back to it on Monday. 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋. We did a lot of things right and we learned a lot of lessons tonight. Nevertheless, we are grateful to walk away with a win tonight and Monday can’t come soon enough when we get back to work. Junior QB MJ Molina (@MJ_Molina13) tossed 3 TDs in his first career start, two to Junior Israel Allen (@IsraelJAllen1) and one to Senior Landen Cordova (@landen_cordova). Defensively, the boys were flying around. Roger Krummel (@KrummelRoger) recovered a fumble while Desmond Burton added an interception. A ton to be proud of and a ton to clean up, but one thing about this team that we are seeing is they love being together and competing.
