Distributed > decentralized
Distributed is about where the system runs. Decentralized is about who has authority.
Those arenโt the same thing.
A distributed system spreads work across multiple machines, so it can be built for resilience and capacity without requiring every decision to come from one server.
Keeping accountability centralized means thereโs a clearly identifiable party responsible for operating it, maintaining standards, and coordinating a response when something needs attention.
The benefit is coordination without giving up distributed infrastructure.
Security fixes, upgrades, and incident response can follow a clear chain of responsibility. You donโt have to confuse โlots of computersโ with โnobody owns the problem.โ
For financial infrastructure, that distinction matters: distributing transaction processing is useful; distributing responsibility until nobody can answer for an outcome isnโt the goal.
The architecture still needs strong security, transparent rules, and verifiable recordsโaccountability makes those obligations explicit, not optional.
โWe didnโt decentralize trust. We centralized accountability.โ In plain English: spread the work, but keep responsibility attached.

What I find interesting about Paxeer X Network is that it's not just focusing on one aspect of the machine economy.
Think about it: AI agents need infrastructure to execute tasks, communicate with other systems, access services and make payments.
That's where the different pieces come in.
LayerX, Hyperfide, Centra, Gideon, Protention, PaxPort and PaxScan each bring a different dimension to the ecosystem.
The interesting part is how these products could work together to make machine-to-machine interactions more practical.
