Four years ago, Pres. Biden nominated Scott Colom to serve as a federal judge in Mississippi.
Mississippi Republican Senator Roger Wicker supported the nomination of Mr. Colom. The state's other senator, Cindy Hyde-Smith, refused to do so based on absurd claims.
Mr. Colom reached to Sen. Hyde-Smith to address her concerns and respectfully point out misunderstandings on her part and appeal to her better angels.
Other prominent Mississippi Republicans reached out to Sen. Hyde-Smith asking her to reconsider and support Mr. Colom's nomination.
She still refused, effectively killing his nomination for no good reason.
She's now on the verge of losing her seat to Scott Colom, who would have never been a threat if she had supported his judicial nomination.

The UK is bringing in a GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) exam in Ukrainian, beginning in September 2028. This is brilliant news, for Ukrainian, and British students in the UK, and hopefully it will be open also for mature students to study! I'd definitely do it.
Today, the UK Department for Education announced preparations to introduce a GCSE exam in Ukrainian. This will give Ukrainian pupils the opportunity to officially demonstrate their knowledge of their native language and obtain a British educational qualification.
GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) is the main British school qualification that children usually obtain at the age of 15-16 after studying several subjects and taking exams. Ukrainian will now be included among the subjects pupils can take exams in. And, by the way, not only Ukrainians but all pupils will be able to sit the exam.
Teaching under the new curriculum will begin in September 2028 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and the first exams will take place in 2029. This step shows that the Ukrainian-British partnership is working and that the One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement is being given real substance that affects people’s lives and the development of the younger generation. Our children must maintain their connection with Ukraine, wherever they live. And their native language is one of the most important foundations of this connection.

Russia dropped at least nine bombs on a school serving as a civilian shelter and humanitarian aid distribution center. Built just last year with EU funding, the facility had a reinforced basement designed to withstand attacks. But the double-tap attack, involving bombs carrying 1.5 tons of explosives, caused the structure to collapse and left a massive crater.
The victims included civilians who had gathered simply to receive humanitarian aid, as well as police officers and emergency rescue workers. Horrific.
