The much missed James Cook. People always rightly talk about the wonderful man that James was but let’s not forget what a fantastic fighter he was too. ❤️

Another one I put in the collection this week. Had never seen this one before. Two of Nigel Benn’s old opponents were billed originally in Johnny Melfah vs Mike Chilambe but “The Melfah Man” would actually take on Winston Wray in the main event.

Just watched Sean Murphy vs Gary De Roux, it's a cracking British slug fest. Highly recommend. youtu.be/FelZ-xl_K5I?is=UkvC…

Alan Minter beats the legendary Emile Griffith over ten in Monte Carlo in July 1977. It would be Griffith’s 111th and final pro contest having made his debut way back in 1958. Minter’s fellow Brits, Billy Knight and Billy Waith (billed as Wait), would also appear on the undercard

Gutted to read of the passing of former World Title challenger Paul “Livewire” Lloyd at the age of just 57. Lloyd would win the lot domestically, claiming Area, British, Commonwealth and European Titles. It’s been a sad few weeks for boxing, gone far too soon. RIP champ
