We're so privileged that we get to have Erin in town with us!
Wonderful seeing @LEAF_Research @BoiseStateGeos alum Erin Murray use her scientific expertise to serve the needs of Idaho. #BoiseStateAlumni

@WillRudisill (A53E-08) presents a Bayesian method to retrieve basin-scale precip from discharge and ASO data (this extends techniques developed by @uwmtnhydr) in the East River. Those estimates are compared against our 34 year WRF dataset and PRISM in the East River 3/4

@WillRudisill and @HydroLejo are coauthors with Dan Feldman, Zexuan Xu, @Hydro_Woodburn, and Alan Rhoades (H21C-02). This work examines interplays between forcings and microphysics schemes in the WRF model and consequences for hydrologic predictions from the ParFlow-CLM model 4/4
The #LEAF group @BoiseState is hiring *both* a Postdoc and a PhD student in CZ to Climate modeling. Positions are supported by a @NSF Frontier Research in Earth Sciences project. Details about the postdoc are here: docs.google.com/document/d/e…

This is a great review of @kendraekaiser's work in the Treasure Valley to support farmers...
What do onion farmers, a hydroelectric dam and a world-renowned whitewater kayaking championship have in common? Why, Kendra Kaiser, of course. @kendraekaiser watershed hydrologist @BoiseStateGeos @LEAF_Research @HumEnviroSystem 🔗 boi.st/3mFUS5K youtu.be/C1YoqCPX0pI

New #LEAF paper led by @WillRudisill (@HydroLejo and @jmcnamaraboise as coauthors). Will used WRF to examine how initial snow conditions affect land-atmosphere evolution through the tropospheric energy budget.

"initial snow states used for numerical weather prediction, dynamical downscaling, or hindcasting should be carefully evaluated, especially in mountainous areas, where reanalyses products grossly underestimate snow mass." 5/6
