HT: Chelsea 0–0 Man United. This game’s getting more watchable for all the wrong reasons. Chelsea scramble every time they lose the ball, while United have enough space to swing a cat and still can’t make the right decision. Two goals ruled out, Bruno missing a big chance both teams are doing their best to keep this at 0–0. #CFC #MUN

Football has become so robotic with all this stupid VAR nonsense. How is Estevao goal offside because of a shoulder? Is he supposed to chop his shoulder off? 😂😅 #CHEMUN

Chelsea defenders trying to help Amad to score a goal 😂😂

Palmer b4 red card Palmer after red card

United’s players have had plenty to say about recruitment, ownership and coaching. Some of their criticism is fair, but Saturday’s defeat at Chelsea was largely down to them. Amad and Bruno had chances to punish Chelsea’s early disorganisation but didn’t make enough of them. Then, once Morgan Rogers scored, United fell apart. Martinez was the clearest culprit, but the whole side lost its composure. Their passing became careless, they couldn’t play through Chelsea’s press and their set pieces went nowhere. The red card and Palmer penalty finished the job. The defeat will only add to the familiar United chaos. They’re on a nine game winless run, their worst since 1988, with Roma and Aston Villa up next. Carrick is still in charge for Tuesday, and the travelling fans backed him while directing their anger at the Glazers, Ratcliffe and Wilcox. Those grievances are understandable. But this game was a reminder that the players have to take responsibility too. If they expect higher standards from the people running the club, they need to show those standards on the pitch. Individual awards and international honours mean little when the team keeps letting itself down. #MUN

Arsenal fans we dodged a big bullet

🚨 Noni Madueke missed first-team training yesterday and is expected to travel with Arsenal to Liverpool for a late fitness test. However, the club are already preparing for the possibility of leaving him out of the matchday squad. Kai Havertz, Christos Tzolis and youngster Ceadach O’Neill have all been discussed as possible alternatives. Madueke’s availability remains uncertain, with the final decision expected after his late assessment via @franchisexcl #AFC

I’d be fuming if VAR apologised for disallowing that goal tomorrow or Monday. An apology means nothing unless they overturn the decision and restore the 3-0 result. We thought drawing the lines was bad, but now they’re picking out ridiculous details. How is a shoulder offside? What’s the point of having professionals in a room if they can’t decide whether it’s a clear offside? At this rate, take us back to the Ferguson era at least plenty of offside goals stood without VAR. Imagine if that decision had changed the result of a title deciding match.

Tzolis starts tomorrow #AFC

It’s a really positive step to get both the manager and players tied down to new contracts. The renewals we’ve already secured are great news, and hopefully we can add to the squad in January as well.
