On Man United, know it’s been said many times, but what do you even do?
The managers will continue being the wrong choice because those in charge of their appointment are incompetent.
The signings will continue to fail because the squad construction and ‘identity’ is misguided.
If a house’s foundations are rotten you can’t solve the problem by giving the floorboards a new coat of paint; you have to rebuild.
But how can that be achieved? Meaningful change requires the people at the top to recognise that their own positions are untenable. But if the history of United tells us anything, it's that failure on the pitch doesn't translate to consequences for those responsible for it.
Rewatched the Villa game.
Just can’t fathom how bad the Donnarumma signing has been; yet it was so obvious.
Unjustifiable amount of errors for a purported world class keeper of his experience and reputation.
If he doesn’t improve and evolve rapidly, we have to cut our losses.
The experiment has been a failure thus far.
£26m transfer fee, highest paid keeper in the league, one of the highest paid players in the squad.
And the ROI is an inarguable net negative. Not being hyperbolic, as things stand, it’s one of the worst signings in City’s modern era and has set us back years.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Enzo Maresca on #ManCity's midfield set-up with Enzo Fernandez and Elliot Anderson vs Aston Villa: "Yeah [I was happy], I think we worked quite good. Again, they were the ones in charge to control the game and to build-up with Ruben [Dias] and Marc Guehi first-half and [Abdukodir] Khusa second-half. And I think they did well!"
I’m seriously going to lose it.
Enzo. Very good game.
Joke.
Enzo Maresca on why @BouaddiAyyoub didn't come on vs Aston Villa: "I think against PSG it was a bit different. I think today we needed technical midfielders, that's why Rayan [Cherki] was out and Phil [Foden] was inside. But no doubt Ayyoub is going to help us. Today Enz [Fernandez] and Elliot [Anderson] both had a very good game. And we have so many games that, for sure, he's going to play minutes..."
This is the first time this season I’ve been genuinely angry.
The individual errors were awful. Guehi again and the myth that Donnarumma is a big game keeper has always been that.
But how do you watch the PSG game and conclude that Bouaddi-Anderson isn’t the solution for these games?
Anderson-Enzo is not a cohesive midfield. Every game they play together the midfield doesn’t exist. You either need to play Enzo advanced or not at all for Villa away because he’s going to be a liability in deeper midfield.
The fact it wasn’t addressed AT ALL staggered me and this feels like a missed opportunity.

Such a fun game! The entire attack shone. That right side connection of Foden/Lewis was special.
Really positive performance from Allan who has a brilliant opportunity given the Semenyo injury.
‘Only’ AEK Athens but beyond one or two poor defensive moments, wonderful watch!
Horror. We’ve lost one of our best goalscorers and wide threats.
Doku and Ndiaye is still more than good enough but they can’t play every game. We may need to utilise the false winger system or rely on Allan/McAidoo for some challenging games coming our way.
