Lakota West 2027 DB Roman Combs 6’4 197- Combs’ length and athleticism really flashed in the Firebirds backfield. Combs really blew up last season after a career that mainly focused around the game of basketball. That athleticism shows up all over the football field. As a defensive back his comfort in space his fluid hips and his ability to run make him a very versatile asset to be used at the next level. Roman’s ability to cover with his length is high end, but honestly, I would be surprised if he didn’t grow into a hybrid linebacker at the next level. His length and athleticism will play up majorly at that position. It is one of the key linchpin positions on the Defensive side of the ball in the game of football in 2026. I see him eventually as a guy who will be able to cover, play the run, and blitz.
