Has the Elbit left called this out yet? Will they act more outraged by Brad Lander openly mourning two Nazi soldiers than by the fact that NYC pension funds increased their investments in Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems during the Gaza genocide under his watch?
Someone tell @EmmaVigeland and @mattxiv to come get their boy.
I’m grieving the deaths of the two Israeli soldiers killed in Hebron today, and praying for the full & speedy recovery of those who were injured.
I’ve spoken out loudly this week against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, which imposes violence on a daily basis, and I will continue to do so. But violence is not the path to ending it — or to achieving safety, freedom, and peace for both Palestinians and Israelis.
And neither is collective punishment or ethnic cleansing of an entire neighborhood, or punishing millions of people for the criminal act of two, which Netanyahu has promised to enact in response.
I’ve seen a lot this week and I’ll have more to say about in the coming days (I’m on my way home shortly). There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence. It starts by insisting that every life is sacred, that everyone is created in God’s image.
For now: Shabbat Shalom, to everyone who believes in the hard work of making peace & justice a reality, for everyone.
On October 30, we shut down the war machine.
Global Sumud Flotilla is joining forces with dockworkers across 100+ ports and 18 trade unions worldwide. From land to sea, we are stopping the logistics of destruction.
No labor for war cargo. No silence for illegal blockades.
Join the Global Day of Action. Break the chain of destruction.
As more unions oppose ICE and Israel, the right is targeting their internal records, seeking access to meeting minutes, membership lists, and Zoom chats, according to the report.

Is this the new LARP? American politicians flying to the West Bank to cosplay as defenders of Palestinians while supporting the very institutions that make settler violence possible in the first place?
Brad Lander, we didn’t need you to fly to Palestine and get into a scuffle with settlers to prove you’re an ally. We needed you to stop investing our money in Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer, while it profited from the genocide of our people. We needed you to stop proudly identifying as a Zionist while condemning Palestinian resistance.
Palestinians don’t need your performative solidarity. We need you to stop supporting our oppressors.
And those who stand with Palestine cannot allow these gestures to buy our trust, erase politicians’ records, or earn them our votes. A photo op in the West Bank does not absolve anyone of their complicity.
Our standards for solidarity with Palestinian liberation cannot be lowered just because politicians have learned how to perform it.
I'm in the West Bank this week as part of the “Protect the Harvest” coalition along with @israelispeaceny, @ucpinpalestine & Protect the Harvest, which is bringing people together from around the world to help Palestinian farmers harvest olives in the face of state-sanctioned settler terrorism.
Our goals for the trip are to help protect the olive harvest — and to shed a light on the reality of the occupation. To ensure that international solidarity goes beyond the harvest, to become a sustained commitment to protecting Palestinian communities from settler violence, forced displacement, and the ongoing threats to their right to remain on their land.
And, speedily and in our day, to secure human rights, safety, equality & freedom for both Palestinians and Israelis.
Thankfully, our corner of today's harvest was peaceful and successful. But violence unfortunately is never far away.
We’ll keep you posted on our efforts this week, especially the stories we hear from Palestinians on the ground. Protect the Harvest.

We stand together with Palestine and all those taking action in solidarity. Together we can defeat the war machine and imagine a world built on justice not on violence and profiteering. People must always come before profit.
Crow, Daniel, Leandra, Vi and Zo entered Elbit Systems in Ulm on Sept 8, 2025. What happens to them will shape what solidarity is allowed to look like in Germany. Germany protects its arms industry while those who tried to stop it face years behind bars.

While Mark Levine won’t reinvest in Israel Bonds, NYC pension funds still hold over $300 million in Israeli investments.
During Israel’s genocide in Gaza, NYC pension funds under Brad Lander purchased additional shares in Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer. NYC’s Elbit holdings increased over 500% during his tenure, reaching $1.5 million.
Lander boasted that NYC pension funds were “proudly invested” in these genocidal companies, declaring, “I have always opposed BDS and I always will.”
Levine has defended maintaining these investments. NYC must divest from all Israeli companies.

When the police unions come after Mamdani it’s important to also defend his decision with holding them accountable. It’s a two way street, we criticize when he needs to do better and we support when he comes through.
Palestinians spoke long before them, and it is Palestinian voices we should be listening to. #Palestine36 #NAZA tawfiqalghussein.substack.co…

Since @KyleKulinski follows me, I can explain why this isn’t astroturfed or some fringe faction of sectarian leftists.
I know the people who led those chants. They’re Arab and Muslim youth who understand the difference between personal culpability and political responsibility.
We’ve used these same chants against previous mayors. Eric Adams wasn’t personally sending bombs to Israel either, but he oversaw the NYPD, which maintains ties to the Israeli military and an office in Tel Aviv. Unless Mamdani has severed those ties, the underlying criticism remains valid.
I might not have used that particular chant myself, only because I know how quickly bad-faith actors, liberals included, will seize on the wording to distract from the substance. But I’m not going to condemn people for using it, or pretend their criticism is any less legitimate.
There’s always a problem with Palestinian chants. “Globalize the Intifada,” “From the river to the sea,” “Long live the resistance.” No matter what we say, the conversation gets redirected from what we’re protesting to how we’re protesting it.
Stop joining the chorus policing Palestinian speech and start engaging with the actual policies and demands.
Kyle Kulinski on Zohran Mamdani getting protested at an October 7th vigil: “They said: Mayor Mamdani, you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide. This is a psyop. This is fucking astroturfed. This is either right-wing infiltrators trying to divide and conquer the left or this is like literal CIA. There is no way this is organic because nobody is that dense, nobody is that stupid to take one of the single most pro-Palestine elected officials in this fucking country and act like he’s guilty, he’s pro-genocide. You must be out of your fucking mind if you believe that”

We warned you about NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
When Mamdani announced he was keeping her as NYPD Commissioner, we organized over 100 organizations to oppose her appointment and laid out her record of racist policing, mass surveillance, repression of protesters, and collaboration with Israeli occupation forces.
These demands came from the streets, from the communities that have been subjected to this violence for years. The movement was right to oppose Tisch then, and we’re right to demand her resignation now.
We are recirculating our statement and calling on every organization that has not yet signed to add its name.
