Alabama Auburn means enough to throw punches at the end of an exhibition game…👀

Why do Alabama fans invest so much emotionally into a football team? Well - in a lot of cases, it’s just part of who we are, and we’re proud of that. I was personally hesitant about sharing this, but I think it’s important for our staff in Tuscaloosa to know that for a large portion of our fanbase, Alabama Football means so much more than just watching games on Saturday. There’s a proud investment from each of us that has created bonds, memories, lore, and is deeply ingrained in what and who we are. It’s not just passion - it’s life in some instances. My story personally is mine, but I’d be willing to bet there are plenty others out there that have similar versions. Alabama Football is a backdrop to so many of life’s most important lessons and moments. I remember “Gravedigger.” I was on the phone with my mom who was dying from cancer. It was her last football season. Her broadcast was about 20 seconds ahead of mine for some reason, and I remember that being the last time I heard her yell and cheer. I knew instantly that something amazing had happened. She passed a few weeks later. 2nd and 26. My best friend, an Army buddy that I went to war with, sat in my living room and we woke up my kids in a loud, cheerful embrace when Tua hit Smitty to walk it off. Down here - our dogs are named Bear and Saban down here. There are kids named Crimson. This is what this staff took on. It’s more than a game to us, often for many, it’s the one season all year they look forward. Dare I say, for some, it’s the one thing keeping them going week end and week out. That A means something and Roll Tide means everything. I doubt the staff will ever see or hear this, but I hope they understand that WE LOVE THIS TEAM and college football is WHO WE ARE down here.

According to Pete Nakos, AK Dear could miss up to six weeks, potentially more. Huge early let down for the Tide but injuries are part of the game. Missing a lot of Spring ball and not scrimmaging hard to think EJ Crowell will have a huge role (imo), would just assume he’s likely behind the curve a bit. Luckily, the Tide will turn to Trae’Shawn, Daniel Hill, and others to pick up the load.
