#Corn:
Dec corn down 3 overnight at its lowest since July 10 after Lula's surprise win in Brazil sent the real sharply lower, making Brazilian corn more competitive. Managed money net long dropped just over 84,000 contracts to 146,000, a 3 month low. Dec corn failing to hold 450 opens the 430 to 437 support area.
#Soybeans:
Jan beans down 17 1/4 overnight, gapping to a new 2 month low as the real crash cuts US export competitiveness. Open interest fell 30,543 contracts Friday and managed money sold across the soy complex in the latest positioning data. Jan beans gap resistance at 1263, intraday support at the 100 day near 1244, then 1220.
#Wheat:
Dec Chicago wheat up 1 overnight, stuck in a 10 cent range for several sessions. #Corn:
Dec corn down 1 3/4 overnight after failing to confirm Wednesday's reversal, with open interest down 9,943 as fund long liquidation continues. Weekly export sales were 1.53 million tonnes, but cumulative sales sit at 26.7% of USDA's forecast vs a 36.1% average. Resistance at 471 then 479, support at this week's low just under 454.
#Soybeans:
Weekly export sales hit 2.84 million tonnes, about three quarters to China, and China/Unknown has bought 1.32 million tonnes this week. Open interest fell 25,700 with stochastics on the cusp of turning higher from deep oversold. Jan beans resistance at 1272 then 1284, and Sunday's Brazil runoff could lift the real and support beans.
#Wheat:
Dec Chicago wheat down 1/2 overnight with the RSI under 20, extremely oversold, but no technical bottom yet. Southwest Plains rains and big Argentina and Australia harvests weigh, and Turkey's crop is forecast up 38% to 24.8 million tonnes. Value in the 610 to 620 range: resistance 649, key support 617.
#Livestock:
Dec live cattle bounced off 200 day support to close at 231.12 ahead of today's Cattle on Feed, where placements are expected at 91.7%, the lowest September on record. Cutout fell $3.12 to $369.47. #Corn:
Dec corn up 3/4 overnight after finding buyers in the 450 to 460 support zone yesterday for an upside reversal, with the 9 day RSI under 20. Brazil's corn shipments to the EU so far in October are up 8 fold from a year ago, and private analysts cut Ukraine corn exports 18% to 17.2 million tonnes. A higher close today confirms the reversal: resistance at 479, support below 459.
#Soybeans:
Jan beans up 1 3/4 overnight after an 8th straight lower close, with soybean open interest down 16,727 contracts on managed money liquidation. China bought a few more cargoes and this morning's export sales should be very large. Harvest yields are still coming in strong, so any bounce is technical: Jan beans stopped short of support near 1243.
#Wheat:
Dec Chicago wheat down 1/4 overnight and Dec KC wheat down 2 1/4, pressured by Black Sea peace prospects and 1 inch plus rains due for the southwest Plains. Chicago wheat open interest rose 9,817 contracts as new shorts pressed, and Argentina's wheat harvest was raised to 23.8 million tonnes from 21.0 last month. No technical bottom yet: resistance at 649, key support at 617.
#Livestock:
Dec live cattle made new highs for the move and closed at 231.12, up more than $20 since Sep 1, with yesterday's high just under 232.65 resistance. Overbought ahead of Friday's Cattle on Feed, placements estimated at 91.7%, so expect profit taking. Dec hogs hit a new contract low as the pork cutout fell $4.49 to $74.20, a 6 year low, with support near 64.00.

#Soybeans:
Jan beans down 3 1/2 overnight and Dec meal down 1.40, with soybean open interest up 12,787. China and unknown destinations bought just under 1 million tonnes this week with no market reaction. Nov beans closed at 1248 1/4, below 1250 support, and look headed toward 1230.
#Wheat:
Dec Chicago wheat down 4 3/4 and Dec KC wheat down 5 1/4 overnight after Russia agreed to join trilateral Black Sea peace talks. Dec Chicago wheat closed at 643 1/4, below the 200 day moving average for the first time since late June and below 650 support, with minor support at 626. Egypt reportedly bought up to 6 cargoes of optional origin wheat overnight.

Boxed beef cutout rose $1.72 to $373.30 ahead of Friday's Cattle on Feed report. Lakefront Morning Briefing 10/20
#Corn:
Dec corn up 1 overnight after a new low for the move and Monday's close at 467. Harvest is 44% done vs the 54% average with Iowa 24% behind, and open interest fell 10,794 contracts as fund long liquidation continues. Resistance at 479, with value seen between 450 and 460.
#Soybeans:
Jan beans up 4 1/4 overnight with Dec bean oil up 0.56. Nov beans tested 1250 retracement support after Monday's close at 1253 1/2, and a close below it risks more fund long liquidation. Harvest is 64% done vs the 65% average, with Nov resistance at 1271, then 1279.
#Wheat:
Dec Chicago wheat up 4 3/4 overnight after testing retracement and 200 day moving average support. Winter wheat planting is 63% done vs the 69% average, a record low for the date, with Oklahoma at 37%. After a $1.42 drop since early September the bearish news looks close to priced in, and buying Dec Chicago wheat on a pullback to 658 makes sense.
#Livestock:
Dec live cattle closed at 228.02 inside Friday's range after a 10 week high, with the 200 day moving average at 229.40 the level to clear, then 232.65. Boxed beef cutout fell 73 cents to $371.58 and the cash average is steady at 224.09. Dec lean hogs closed on the low at 66.32 with the index at 74.19, the lowest since February 14, and support near 64.00.
