Losing a child is every parent’s worst nightmare.
I’ve met the Nowaks. They are a brave family, locked in a fight for justice when they should be mourning their son.
Henry’s murderer deserves the maximum sentence he can get, so news that it has increased to 25 years is welcome. It will never bring Henry back but it is a step in the right direction.
Since meeting Henry's family their story has stayed with me. We owe it to his memory to make sure this sort of thing does not happen again.

The family of 18-year-old Henry Nowak, who was stabbed to death by Sikh attacker Vickrum Digwa in Southampton, England, has accused Hampshire Police of misleading them about his death, portraying him as the aggressor, and potentially protecting the force's reputation.
Digwa falsely claimed that Nowak had racially abused him, punched him, and knocked off his turban during the December 3 confrontation.
Instead of immediately helping the dying teenager, responding officers handcuffed and arrested him while he repeatedly pleaded, “I can't breathe” and “I've been stabbed.” He told officers at least nine times that he could not breathe.
His family says police initially assured them that officers had immediately administered first aid, only for them to discover later that Henry had been restrained before receiving assistance.
Hours after informing the family of his death, Hampshire Police published a statement describing two people as having been attacked by an unknown man, whom the family subsequently realized was Henry.
The family also reveals that officers questioned them about Henry's political views and their own immediately after informing them of his murder.
His father, Mark Nowak, said police repeatedly changed their account of what happened, leaving the family feeling “hoodwinked” and deceived. His stepmother, Katie Nowak, fears that decisions were made to protect the police rather than help the grieving family.
The family was not shown bodycam footage of Henry's final moments until the first day of Digwa's murder trial in May.
Digwa was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years.
Hampshire Police Chief Constable Alexis Boon has now publicly admitted that the force failed Henry, apologizing for its conduct during his final moments.
The family will recount their ordeal in ITV's documentary Dear Henry: Our Fight for Justice, airing November 5.

I want everyone to understand what state this country is in.
Tower Hamlets Council lied to the police. Yet when I submitted a subject access request asking for the personal information it holds about me, it claimed to have no records mentioning me.
This is a recording of my conversation with a police officer on 25 June, two days before our planned event in Tower Hamlets. Shortly afterwards, the police imposed conditions under section 14 of the Public Order Act. We risked arrest if we failed to comply.
We chose Tower Hamlets to show that there are places in the UK that have become no-go areas for English women like me—places in our own country where we cannot speak freely in public.
Listen to what the officer says. What you will hear is how our freedom to speak was made dependent on who we are and what those who disagree with us might do if we spoke in public.
There should not be a public park in the UK where women cannot gather to speak about women's rights.
I have chosen to publish the whole call so I cannot be accused of manufacturing something. It's is madness though.
Basically the police are against us, the law abiding British people. We are a nuisance. But we can be controlled and pistol whipped by the state.
The police are afraid of migrants, muslims and leftists.

A suspected member of faculty attacked equipment, punched him in the face and attempted to strangle him. A member of Stand up to Racism put a megaphone against his ear while protesters surrounded and harassed him. He defended himself and his equipment.
Police arrested two parties, Bob and the suspected member of faculty in question.

Why are Ukrainians MPs deciding UK education policy? If Ukrainians want a recognised Ukrainian qualification the place to get it is Ukraine.
I'm so pleased to see this; both local Ukrainians and Ukrainian MPs have raised the need for their language to be recognised with a GCSE.
This is great for Ukrainian heritage youngsters in our schools and those interested in the fascinating language.
