Double Trouble in the Bay! Invest 90B is not far away! First Cyclone Arnab, now this. While all eyes are on Arnab, meteorologists - and this model, of course - are tracking Invest 90B right behind it in the southwest Bay of Bengal. This secondary system is already well beyond the embryonic stage and is actively interacting with Arnab, slowing it down and shifting its path. One after the other, this bay is absolutely cooking right now. Check out the latest model animation showing both systems fighting for dominance. The model I use accurately predicted the path and time of landfall of Cyclone Arnab. Stay tuned, stay safe, folks!

People in the affected coastal areas in Andra Pradesh say the storm is much more intense than what forecasters told them. Perhaps, it may be due to the influence of Invest 90B that is forming in the periphery of the Bay of Bengal. There are unknown factors at work; that's why real storms always defy the models, especially while making landfall. Cyclone Arnab is a case in point.

#CycloneArnab -- The cyclone is likely to make a landfall between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam, to the South of Yanam between 2 AM to 4 AM on October 28, at a wind speed of 125-135 kmph gusting to 150 kmph. #CycloneArnab moving at a speed of 17 kmph over the west-central Bay of Bengal, was centred 70 km from Kakinada, 60 km from Narsapur, 120 km from Tuni and Machilipatnam, and 190 km from Visakhapatnam as of 10.20 pm on Tuesday. The cyclone is likely to bring heavy to extremely heavy rainfall to East Godavari, West Godavari, Kakinada, Konaseema and Anakapalli districts during the night. The storm is expected to trigger severe gale-force winds of 145–155 kmph, with gusty winds reaching up to 170 kmph.

📢 Midterm Mayhem: Geopolitics and Looming Escalation Drive Oil Past $100 The ongoing military conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran is the main driver of the 2026 global energy shock. This crisis shows no signs of slowing down, despite intense diplomatic efforts by nations such as Qatar, Pakistan, and Turkey to broker peace. What started as a localized clash in the Strait of Hormuz has escalated into a widespread campaign directly targeting major energy infrastructure and vital shipping routes throughout the Middle East. Cyclone Arnab A "dancing cyclone" has spun up in the Bay of Bengal, but models show Sri Lanka will dodge a direct hit. Cyclone Arnab is tracking northwest toward India for a Wednesday landfall. While our island is clear of the direct path, significant indirect weather impacts are starting today. Expect heavy rain exceeding 100mm in the Northern, Western, Southern, and Central provinces alongside gale-force winds and dangerous 4-metre The animation below to see how the system is drawing moisture across Sri Lanka while choosing its unpredictable path.

🌀 The Dancing Depression over Bay of Bengal The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is exhibiting a bizarre path, moving unexpectedly southeastward and southward before an anticipated sharp U-turn west-northwestward. This dancing trajectory is keeping forecasters on high alert for severe coastal weather, torrential rain, and rough seas. Coastal areas must follow updates closely as track models evolve. It comes down toward Sri Lanka at some point, only to reverse the trajectory, heading back towards the Indian southeastern coast. #SriLanka #BayofBengal

🚨 WEATHER ALERT: A developing system in the Bay of Bengal is gathering strength This 72-hour simulation maps out its evolution from a low-pressure system into a depression in the periphery of the Bay of Bengal. Areas along the north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coastlines should closely monitor this system as further intensification into a cyclone remains possible. Prepare ahead and follow local administration guidelines.
