what so many Hayek-worshipping tech bros do not understand is the entire premise of modern tech — from advertising monopolies that intuit the demand signals of the consumer through to just-in-time manufacturing and delivery from eg Amazon — is premised on the idea the socialist calculation debate is solvable (but the calculations are done by a private monopoly instead of a public one)
Will AI finally enable effective central planning? This is a rehash of the old "socialist calculation debate."
My take is: while the actual "calculations" are now tractable, markets produce essential information that seems hard to get otherwise.
In particular, it seems impossible to get accurate demand signals without actually having people trade for what they want. Otherwise, people have an incentive to exaggerate and say that their needs are very, very important.

Fascinating to be called a "liar" by people who are now lying about how they "never supported the war." Back in March, they were denying that it was even a war at all, claiming it was "just targeted strikes" and suggesting that you were "traumatized by Iraq" if you didn't agree. That was a lie then and now they're lying about lying.
WTF are they getting? Have I successfully segregated myself from the normiecattle to the point I no longer know or understand where they derive endorphins?

The AI layoff gamble is backfiring.
Companies that rushed to replace workers with AI are now cleaning up the mess, per The Guardian.
Meta scaled back plans to cut staff and use more AI agents after employees spent growing time cleaning up the agents’ technical and security errors. It’s now rehiring managers.
Microsoft and McKinsey are limiting employee AI use as costs pile up.
Walmart workers say AI scheduling and task tools set impossible standards and generate false alerts.
The payoff isn’t showing up: 90% of executives say AI hasn’t yet boosted productivity at their companies, per an Atlanta Fed working paper.
Yet more than 112,000 US job cuts this year have cited AI, per Challenger, Gray & Christmas.
Yes, every verified take seller should be forced to disclose their sources of income
The online influencer ecosystem has drifted far from its roots. What began as largely ideology-driven has become almost entirely financially driven.
For most of the past year, I’ve been calling for the FTC to update its guidelines so that paid political content faces the same disclosure requirements as paid promotions of commercial products: clothing, food, cosmetics, or anything else.
Right now, if someone is paid to support or oppose a candidate or political issue online, no disclosure is required.
It’s time for that to change.

Misesian libertarians are admirers of the Hapsburg Empire because of the way it combined multi-ethnic, multi-cultural emancipation and self-government for a diverse group (the "millet system"), but especially for how it treated Jews.
(Jews became extremely powerful under the crown and Mises' own family were politically connected bankers and Rabbis in the Austro-Hungarian Empire -- he also apparently "joked" about wanting to restore the Monarchy)
Misesian/Hoppean libertarians see the Turks as the "Guardians" of Western Civilization.
(this is where Hans Herman-Hoppe lives, where he married his politically/economically powerful wife, where the Property & Freedom Society is located and they hold their conferences)
Different media markets I'd assume. Boomers/Xers are not elastic while young white men are now a pivotal swing group
Another interesting dynamic. The "BAPsphere/Talmudic network"-Fat Morney, Fugitive Retard, CD, Payne are taking a more apologetic "we knew things were bad but didn't want to demoralize" stance while the MAGA boomer/Xer slop posters are doubling down that everyone else is wrong \
