This happened not because of immigration... But because corporate wealthy commercial real estate developers got subsidized land for cheap from red states and maximized profits during the Bush years. And you can't stop building because that would stop profit, so they put these on every corner in America, whether demand was there or not. No future planning. No research or studies. Just 3-4 parcel commercial unit buildings anywhere you look.

When I left Texas at 18 to join the Army, they told us if we fought overseas, we’d be preserving our way of life back home. Twenty years later, I finally came back… …and now Texas is just a bunch of Indian shops, Afghan markets and halal stores. This is my state, but it feels so far from home.
