An LA hospitality group runs 25 bars, many of them right by Dodger Stadium. Every extra playoff game means packed bars. An early exit means lost revenue they were counting on. So they hedged it. They put $60,000 on Kalshi on the Dodgers *not* making the World Series. The Dodgers lost the NLCS to the Brewers. The position returned nearly 2x, helping cover the playoff business that *never* came. A Columbia law professor told Fortune it works like “a form of bespoke insurance.” Read the full story here: fortune.com/2026/10/19/predi…

We first published Instacart’s hidden jobs in California in April 2025 Then in August Instacart threatened to sue Jobs Now for promoting their hidden jobs, and we were forced to take their ads down But we didn’t let them shut us up, and alerted Newsweek and The Hill to Instacarts discrimination So happy to finally see justice for Americans job seekers Instacart unfairly discouraged from applying! Another win for Harmeet!
Major win for protecting U.S. workers! Instacart has agreed to a $5 million settlement for discrimination during PERM recruitment. Thank you @andrealucasEEOC for your partnership in getting a great result and sending a message that this administration holds companies accountable. justice.gov/opa/pr/civil-rig…

COGNIZANT IS PUTTING GOOGLE AI AGENTS INSIDE ITS CLIENTS' SYSTEMS Here is why that should worry anyone whose data sits on a Cognizant-run network. Start with the track record. In August 2023, hackers called the help desk Clorox had outsourced to Cognizant and asked for employee passwords. They got them. No identity verification, according to Clorox's $380M lawsuit against Cognizant. The attack knocked out Clorox's ordering systems and caused nationwide product shortages. Cognizant disputes the claims. In 2020, Cognizant's own network was hit by Maze ransomware, which the company said cost it $50 to $70 million. That is the company now selling AI agents deployed into client job roles in weeks instead of quarters. Cognizant's own press release says these agents automate 60 to 70% of manual effort. Every agent needs standing access to the systems it works in. More standing access means a bigger blast radius when access control fails. Access control is exactly what Clorox says failed. Now add jurisdiction. Cognizant has 357,600 employees and over 250,000 of them are in India, roughly 70% of the company. Federal data rules like CJIS and IRS Pub 1075 restrict offshore access to criminal-justice and taxpayer data. Cognizant now runs the State of Iowa's entire IT operation. No one has shown the public whether those offshore-access rules are enforced, or whether Gemini tools will touch state systems. Two dates tell the story. April 29: Cognizant sets aside $270M for severance under Project Leap, with analysts modeling 7,000 to 15,000 job cuts. July 7: Cognizant announces Gemini for up to 200,000 of its own employees. Your data is now on these networks whether you picked Cognizant or not.

They aren't some cost-cutting visionary. If a frigging auto part supplier is doing this, then everyone else already has.
O'REILLY NOW HIRING IN INDIA O'Reilly Auto Parts cut American jobs. Then built a tech hub in Bengaluru, India. Now they're hiring AI and data teams there, and they want people with retail experience. The jobs aren't coming back. They're already gone.

DHS to Boost U.S. Graduates by Ending Rubber-Stamp Visa Extensions | Neil Munro, Breitbart Employers who try to extend the visas of their temporary foreign workers must file new justifications for not hiring skilled Americans, say new regulations from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The rule change ended the prior deference rules, which say agency examiners must defer to years-old corporate justifications for foreign workers. The likely result will be many more denials of requests for visa workers, such as the H-1B and J-1 workers being targeted by Vice-President JD Vance’s anti-fraud campaign. “DHS believes that removing deference [to prior justifications] would enhance program integrity and thereby better protect the interests of U.S. workers, consistent with this Administration’s priorities,” said the DHS statement. The priorities were sketched on October 8 by Vance: I’m sure that everybody here understands the game that is being played: You bring in indentured servants from outside the country, you lay off American workers, and if you’re a corporation, you make a ton of money by undercutting the wages of American workers, replacing them with people who, frankly, shouldn’t be in the United States of America to begin with. This is a terribly pernicious system. It’s gone on for too long. Vance’s growing criticism of the visa programs is spurring more public opposition, despite a near-blackout by the establishment media. In 2024, the DHS received almost 600,000 new and renewal applications for foreign workers, titled “Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker.” The 38-page application does not ask for evidence that employers tried to hire Americans before asking for the foreign worker. “There isn’t anything like that,” said John Miano, an immigration lawyer who defends Americans. The key factor is enforcement, Miano told Breitbart News: “They’ve got to actually check … [and] the cynic in me says they are announcing stuff that won’t have any effect on the companies.” Currently, “they’re not even checking if the [workers’ claimed] worksite is valid,” he added. The visa numbers are high because the many visa programs are huge and strongly supported by many executives. For example, the government allows U.S. employers to keep a workforce of roughly 2.5 million foreign graduates, including almost 1 million H-1B workers and spouses. Those white collar migrants get good jobs — partly via Indian favoritism, fraud, and hidden kickbacks — that would otherwise go to American graduates. The deference rules were established in 2004 by President George Bush, ended by President Donald Trump in 2017, and restarted by President Joe Biden in 2021. The end of deference is likely to expose fraud, Trump’s deputies noted: Specifically, for H-1B extension cases from FY 2022 through FY 2025, the overall combined percentage of non-compliance and/or fraud among H-1B sites visited during USCIS administrative and targeted site visits was 22.39 percent. In comparison, when USCIS had a policy of no deference, the overall combined percentage of H-1B non-compliance and/or fraud among H-1B sites visited during FY 2018 through FY 2020 was 16.77 percent. For L-1A extension cases, the overall combined percentage of non-compliance and/or fraud among L-1A sites visited during USCIS administrative and targeted site visits from FY 2022 through FY 2025 was 24.46 percent. In comparison, the overall combined percentage of L-1A noncompliance and/or fraud among L-1A sites visited from FY 2018 through FY 2020 was 18.37 percent. The visa programs are set in law, and are strongly backed by business groups. But Trump’s deputies are setting many partial curbs on many visa programs. For example, they are curbing the ability of foreign students to stay in the United States and setting large fees on universities that get work permits for foreign students. Officials are also setting large fees on H-1B work permits, and forcing migrants to submit justification if they want to extend work permits. So far, corporate lawyers have persuaded friendly, lower-court judges to block nearly all of Trump’s reforms. Lobbies for more business migration lamented the Trump reforms. For example, the leading migration firm, Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, complained: If the regulation is implemented, employers are likely to see a marked increase in Form I-129 requests for evidence (RFEs) and an increased risk of denials, with a particular impact on extension of status petitions; this in turn could disrupt the ability of employers to retain sponsored foreign talent and impede projects and workforce planning. “The administration wants to discourage immigration,” immigration lawyer Jonathan Grode of Green & Spiegel told Forbes.com. The Times of India worried the reform could constrict India’s economic strategy of sending Indian migrants into foreign jobs: This means there will be more denials, more documentation, more RFEs. USCIS could reexamine whether the employee qualifies for the position and whether the job meets H-1B requirements. Employers and employees may face additional requests for evidence and documentation. A growing number of investors and CEOs admit the deep fraud within the visa programs. India’s tech economy has grown because “a big part of the business was gaming the US visa system to cheaply onshore Indian IT workers into American companies,” Umar Saif, the CEO of a Pakistani tech firm, said on X. He added: Basically, staffing firms masquerading as IT companies. Washington has finally caught up with this back door. First came the $100,000 fee on certain new H-1B applications. Now, major IT outsourcing firms, Microsoft and Adobe have been suspended from the PERM green-card process over alleged abuse. A visa programme meant to attract skilled talent should never become a back door for cheap staffing. Few Pakistanis are hired via the Indian-dominated H-1B program. THIS IS HUGE 🚨 This is why 97% of renewals are approved. They are auto green lit once approved once. A 3 year temp visa turns into an indefinite stay. Renewals are near all time highs. If finalized, this could be the most impactful change this administration has made yet.

The best thing the administration can do now is permanently end this Obama-created work authorization program through rulemaking. It’s an easy, achievable win. This should have happened during Trump’s first term, but pro-migration operatives within DHS distracted the administration from getting it done.
ANOTHER BIG WIN FINALIZED TODAY🚨 H-4 EAD, the work permit for H-1B spouses, no longer gets an automatic extension while a renewal sits at USCIS. DHS made the October 2025 rule permanent today. Zero changes. Zero days of grace. Card expires, work stops the next day. No approval, no job. Nothing is automatic. Same rule hits E and L spouses, green card applicants, and TPS holders. DHS projects 20,000 to 33,000 permits lapsing in an 18 month window.

Oh look, another politician sticking up for foreign jobs instead of Americans. Last November, she posted about skyrocketing layoffs and protecting LOCAL American workers. Now, when the Trump admin does that she rushes to defend the other side. Rep DelBene, you’re full of shit
The Trump administration’s action today is an attack on current H-1B visa holders already in the United States. Haphazardly taking away the pathway to a lawful green card for skilled workers at certain American companies is a biased and punitive misuse of the law. Let’s be clear: this move will have no impact on purported H-1B visa abuse. It simply undercuts a legal way for people to work, stay with their family, and become a part of our communities. This will inject even more uncertainty into our already turbulent economy while hamstringing innovation, competitiveness, and ultimately American workers. seattletimes.com/business/mi…

THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER VISA She lost the H-1B lottery. It didn't matter. 5 years later, she is still here and working. Business Insider told her story as a hardship piece. We see it through a completely different lens. To us, it demonstrates the clearest public walkthrough of how the visa chain actually works. The timeline, straight from the article: 2021: Arrives from India for a master's at San José State. After graduation, a Bay Area healthcare startup hires her on STEM OPT. No lottery, no cap, no prevailing wage requirement, and most OPT workers are exempt from Social Security and Medicare. The employer saves 7.65% in payroll taxes on every OPT paycheck, so on paper she costs less than an American with the identical resume. Her employer enters her in the H-1B lottery and she loses. Nothing changes. STEM OPT runs up to 3 years either way. October 2025: Laid off. November 2025: A NYC recruiting company hires her, has her relocate cross-country with no relocation assistance, then lays her off two weeks in. The move cost her $6,000. (Genuinely ugly employer behavior, but that is another story). December 25: Back in California. OPT expiring. 60 days to leave the country. This is where you'd think it would end. Deadline, then the flight home. Here is what actually happened next: February 2026: She finds a job that will hire her for contract work. She enrolls for a Ph.D. in business administration at Westcliff University, a for-profit school and one of the best-known Day 1 CPT schools in the country. Her explanation, in her own words: "It allows me to stay in the US on a student visa." That sentence is the entire system. The 60-day clock stops for anyone willing to pay tuition. The lottery decides which visa you hold, not whether you stay. F-1 to OPT to STEM OPT to a Day 1 CPT doctorate: five years in the US, zero H-1Bs ever held. There is always another visa.

A small university in Indiana keeps a second, separately registered federal record that almost nobody opens. On that record sit 9,123 graduate students, 98.3% of them foreign nationals. Trine University. Trine paid roughly $16 million to a single recruiting agency that runs its offices out of Hyderabad and Warangal. The person that agency lists as its contact is the same person Trine's own press release calls its director of international graduate student recruitment. None of those payments appear anywhere in eleven years of Trine's audited financial statements. This is their graduating class.

Blaze Reporter Sara Gonzales just exposed an H-1B Sponsor for Scamming the Visa system. He has since shut the company down and fled the country. I asked the DOL Inspector General whats going to happen to him. He said he is going to hunt him down and put in chains. "The real sign is going to be us holding these people accountable, holding the companies accountable, whether it's civil penalties and obviously holding those accountable who are breaking the law. And for those people, we have plenty of sets of handcuffs ready for them." "We have a FBI director that flat out has told us there is no state you can hide in, there's no country you can hide in, there's no continent that you can hide in. We will send agents and we will find you and we will extradite you back to the United States of America." Lock them all up @USLaborIG Amazing reporting @SaraGonzalesTX

#WTH Kroger just hired the Walmart guy whose claim to fame was shipping 7,000 American back-office jobs to India… and his first big move is building a shiny new “Global Capability Center” in Bangalore so they can quietly erase another 5,700 U.S. paychecks. Nothing says “American grocery chain” quite like a French consultant on a visa gutting Cincinnati headquarters while the new CEO treats Midwest workers like an expense line to be optimized out of existence. Globalists call it “streamlining decision-making.” Normal people call it “we don’t actually need you Americans anymore.” But sure, keep shopping there. I’m sure the Bangalore call center will be real sympathetic when your prices go up and the only American left in the building is the guy who pushed the button.
KROGER CEO SPECIALIZES IN OUTSOURCING AMERICAN JOBS Yael is not the only one brought in to cut cost at Americans expense. Greg Foran, the man who cut 7,000 back office jobs at Walmart and shipped them to India, is now Kroger CEO. Greg Foran became Kroger CEO on February 9. At Walmart US he ran the 2016 program that pulled accounting and invoicing out of every store and erased 7,000 back office jobs. In 2018 Walmart outsourced its finance and accounting operations to Genpact, a firm with most of its workforce in India. Kroger announced a "Global Capability Center" on Foran's first earnings call. Investors were told it will "streamline decision-making" and modernize how the company operates. Consultant Brittain Ladd, citing people inside Kroger, reports the center is in Bangalore and the target is $500M a year in labor savings. At $87,500 saved per offshored role, that math works out to roughly 5,700 US jobs. A source close to the company confirms layoffs are coming and disputes only the size.
