Honestly could not ask for a more beautiful epigraph for my time on twitter, and what I might hope to have given others here, than this. 💙 Please come and find me at bluesky 🦋

Begging all my mutuals, ESPECIALLY fellow scientists & historians, to give this place up. You're not doing good work here. And the censorship is real - the below post doesn't even appear on my profile, only the reply - presumably because it mentions the other place. Free speech?
Have given Bluesky a solid 2 months, it's now exactly like good-old-days twitter. Chronological TL, no algorithm or paid posts, *no ads*, 90% of #archaeology & #history & #science community there, with much greater engagement. And I have MORE followers. Why are people still here?

Can pretty much guarantee at this point that unless you're bluetick, there's no benefit in intellectual, informational, or commercial terms to staying here. (will check in now & then in case anyone replies, but otherwise am over there as usual, come find me/the rest of us!)

Still convinced that somewhere, ice-clenched by 50,000 year old mud and permafrost, there's a #Neanderthal.

#InternationalCatDay ... #Neanderthal-style European wildcat, famed for their elusiveness and massive grumpiness. Let’s go back 55,000 years to explore one cat’s story, with a sneak peek where it features in #Kindred. 1/6 📷 Scottish Wildcat Action

Hi everyone, I'm going to where the sky is blue. It's easy to find colleagues using the lists prep by @LeMoustier or @FlintDibble. Hope to see you there.

Breaking. Tesla's Amsterdam HQ got an unsolicited "light show " from @bydonkeys last night, because nothing says "I have concerns about your business practices" quite like turning someone's building into a surprise PowerPoint presentation. #TeslaAfterDark #teslaisthedark

After much wrangling, I *think* I finally have the structure of #Matriarcha's 'Metal Ages' chapter worked out... So now's your last chance to tell me your fav example of Iron or Bronze/Copper Age #archaeology concerning women - extra points if it is from outside Europe!

p.s. I am also interested in contemporary historic (i.e. with writing) cultures also e.g. Mycenaeans, however I already have a lot on Mesopotamia via texts, so any specific archaeological aspects are very welcome!
