When circumstances change, God’s Word remains. The psalmist says, “My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.” —Psalm 119:50
Biblical hope is not pretending pain does not exist. It is trusting that God is faithful even in the middle of it. When life feels uncertain, remember what He has already done in Christ.
His promises give us solid ground to stand on.
💭Peter knew the power of Jesus’ forgiveness. After swearing that he would never forsake Jesus, he slept through prayer and then denied and abandoned Jesus. Paul mentions, almost as an aside, Jesus’ private appearance to Peter after his resurrection. What this must have meant to Peter! Have you known forgiveness this complete? How has it transformed your life?
📖For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas [Peter], and then to the Twelve.—1 Corinthians 15:3-5
🙏Prayer: Oh Jesus, thank You for forgiving me and restoring me! Thank You for Your mercy and grace. Thank You for the opportunity to show my love for You by serving others in Your name. May I extend the forgiveness and grace You have shown me to others. I pray in Your name, Amen.
Whose interests are driving your leadership decisions?
It's easy to put our own agendas, recognition, comfort, or success ahead of those we lead.
But Jesus showed us a different way. He used His influence to serve others, not Himself.
Leading like Jesus requires us to examine not only WHAT we do, but WHY we do it.
Before your next leadership decision, ask: Am I serving others, or am I serving myself?

💭To be filled with the Spirit is to live all of life in light of God’s presence. Praise and thanksgiving highlight His presence and activity. As we focus on God’s goodness, our hearts are shaped to trust Him more, our minds are renewed, and our relationships are transformed. As you meditate on this Scripture passage, ask God how you can intentionally create an atmosphere of praise.
📖Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.—Ephesians 5:18-20
🙏Prayer: God, You are good, and Your love endures forever. Thank You for life and breath and hope. Thank You for Jesus. Thank You for Your Spirit. Thank You for the encouragement of Scripture. Thank You that I can meditate on Your goodness and choose to praise You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
The world often defines freedom as doing whatever we want. Psalm 119 gives us a better picture: “I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.” —Psalm 119:45
Sin promises freedom but leads to slavery. In Christ, we are set free to walk in God’s good ways—not to earn His love, but because we already belong to Him.
True freedom is found in trusting and following God.
You want to lead like Jesus. But do your actions always reflect that desire?
Even with the best intentions, we can allow pride, fear, and self-interest to influence how we lead.
The greatest barrier to leading like Jesus isn't a lack of leadership skills. It's a heart that puts self first.
Lasting leadership transformation begins when we allow Jesus to change our hearts.

💭God has given us everything we need in Jesus. Peter says that we have all we need for life and godliness in God’s promises. Paul tells us that we have every spiritual blessing in Christ. As leaders, Jesus has commissioned us to go in His name and authority. What do you trust Him to supply today?
📖Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.—Ephesians 1:3
🙏Prayer: Lord, too often I look at myself instead of relying on who You are as I lead. Forgive me. Refocus me on who You are and all that I am and have in You. You have promised never to forsake me. You have placed me where I am for Your purposes. You have given me Your Spirit. Today, let me meditate on who You are and go in Your strength. I pray in Your name, Jesus, Amen.
Prayer is a powerful way to support those who serve, lead, and share the love of Jesus.

💭 Have you ever wanted to lead like Jesus but found your actions telling a different story?
Even the Apostle Paul struggled with doing what he knew was right. Our desire to lead well can be undermined by a heart focused on self rather than service.
Leading like Jesus begins by honestly examining what motivates us.

Jesus was “full of joy through the Holy Spirit.”—Luke 10:21
Jesus knew sorrow, but sorrow did not define His emotional life. He also rejoiced in His Father’s work and delighted in God’s gracious purposes. Christlike living is more than enduring hardship faithfully. It is learning to recognize and celebrate what God is doing. What evidence of His grace can you rejoice in today?
💭Being a servant leader isn’t for the fainthearted. Both Moses and the Lord repeatedly called Joshua to be strong and courageous. They warned him not to give into fear or discouragement, but to trust the Lord’s presence with him, and they reminded him that the Lord would never forsake him. Where do you need to replace fear and discouragement with strength and courage?
📖“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”—Joshua 1:9
🙏Prayer: Lord, thank You for the assurance of Your presence with me as I serve You and lead Your people. Help me to recognize fear and discouragement as signals to turn to You, drawing strength and courage from Your presence. Thank You for believing in me and strengthening me to lead like Jesus. I pray in His name, Amen.
Our greatest spiritual problem is not simply that we lack knowledge—our hearts often want the wrong things.
“Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.” —Psalm 119:36
The psalmist asks God not only to teach him, but to change his desires. We need that same grace. God does more than correct our behavior; by His Spirit, He reshapes what we love.
Lord, turn my heart toward You.
“My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.”—Mark 14:34
In Gethsemane, Jesus did not hide His anguish. He expressed it honestly, brought it before His Father, and continued in obedience. Faithfulness does not mean pretending difficult emotions are absent. It means bringing them to God and trusting Him enough to obey—even when the path ahead is painful.
💭Elizabeth and Zechariah had been praying for a child for so long that they didn’t really expect the Lord to answer. When He did answer, they discovered that His timing was perfect, and an encouragement to them and others. What longing do you trust God to fulfill?
📖“Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. … and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born. He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God.—Luke 1:13-16
🙏Prayer: Lord, I trust You with the longings of my heart. I will keep seeking You. Take my prayers and answer them in a way that brings You glory. I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
It’s easy to talk about loving people. It’s harder when leadership becomes inconvenient, disappointing, or painful. That’s where our hearts are revealed. Read 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 slowly today and allow its description of love to examine the way you lead. Where is God inviting you to become more patient, humble, truthful, hopeful, or persevering?
Leading like Jesus begins in the heart.

Fear of failure can quietly shape the way we lead. It can make us overly cautious, delay decisions, and convince us that playing it safe is wisdom. But when fear begins making our decisions for us, it takes the lead. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, “Fear not, for I am with you.” Our confidence is not in knowing every outcome, but in knowing God is with us. What would faithfulness look like if fear didn’t drive your decision?
💭Moses’ early attempts to lead from a worldly perspective led to exile. Years later, when God called him through the burning bush experience, memories of past failure still haunted him and threatened to undermine his confidence in God. What failures keep you from responding to God’s call?
When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”
📖“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.—Exodus 3:4-6
🙏Prayer: Lord, I hear You call my name. Don’t let pride, fear or past failure keep me from responding to You. Give me humility and confidence to lead like Jesus, in whose name I pray, Amen.
Uncertainty has a way of filling in the blanks with fear. We imagine what might happen, assume the worst, and allow tomorrow’s possibilities to steal today’s peace.
But faith invites us to respond differently.
Pause. Pray. Take your thoughts captive. Ask what is actually true, take the next faithful step, and trust God with what you cannot control.
You may not know what is around the corner—but you know the One who does.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
Christlike love doesn’t disappear when relationships become difficult. It remains faithful enough to extend grace and courageous enough to hold people accountable. We need both. Grace without truth can become avoidance; truth without grace can become harshness. Jesus shows us a better way—one where love is patient, honest, forgiving, and always seeking what is good for the other person.
Jesus knew the Father had placed all things under His power—so He knelt and washed His disciples’ feet. (John 13:3–5.)
Jesus did not use authority to elevate Himself but to serve others. Leadership shaped by Jesus does not ask, “How can this position benefit me?” It asks, “How can I use what God has entrusted to me for the good of others?”
