Today we celebrate #InternationalTeachersDay! Teachers play a crucial role in our lives. This is especially true for young people with a #migrant background who are often deprived of their right to go to school and see teachers as a beacon of hope for a better future.

I wonder if the #Homeoffice thought about the pulling factor of the policy of #deporting asylum seekers to Rwanda. What it means to the 2nd populous country in Africa with 23.8% unemployment rate (Trading Economics, 2021).?????

Today I had the most amazing phone call. A man who has suffered the worst torture I have ever had described to me has just had his ticket to Rwanda cancelled. For at least ten minutes we have both cried on the phone with total happiness and relief.

Offshoring people 5,000 miles away is a grubby cash-for-people plan and a cowardly, barbaric and inhumane way to treat people fleeing persecution and war.

I’ve been thinking over the last week about funding/commissioning & have been questioning about the allocation of it. If we seriously want to ‘Level up’ with equity then we really need to look at our application processes. 1/
The Government is trying to pass an anti-refugee bill that would take a wrecking ball to the right to claim asylum in the UK.
If you agree that this disgraceful bill should never become law, sign this petition to help fight the #AntiRefugeeBill! act.refugee-action.org.uk/pa…
