THE BABY HAS ARRIVED - PRE-NAMING ANNOUNCEMENT Empire of Scars: The Legendary History of Nigeria My Dear Friends, At last, the cry of a long-awaited baby has been heard! Our baby, whom we collectively conceived and whose intellectual foetus has been growing in the womb of history for FOUR WHOLE YEARS, has finally been delivered. What began as an idea has matured into an heirloom; what started as a dream has found its way into the hands of destiny. Four years of sweat. Four years of sleepless vigils. Four years of descending into the deepest caverns of our storied past, to bring our history into the light in its purest and richest form. Today, the cord is cut. The cry has been heard. Ladies and gentlemen, the baby is here! That baby for whom your congratulations have been so warm, your encouragement so reassuring, and your anticipation so infectious is none other than our long-awaited book project: EMPIRE OF SCARS: THE LEGENDARY HISTORY OF NIGERIA. This book is our attempt to bring those stories home, to illuminate the shadows of our past, interrogate the scars of our journey, and preserve the lessons from yesterday that tomorrow must not be allowed to forget. But, dear friends, every child deserves a befitting naming ceremony, and a project of this magnitude must not be ushered into the world through the back door. Prepare yourselves for a dignifying launch, one worthy of the labour, the vision, and the historical significance of this noble undertaking. Yet, before we discharge this bouncing baby from the delivery ward and formally present it to the world, there is a peculiar privilege reserved for our friends in the diaspora. They shall have the first glimpse of this beautiful creation, a taste of the intellectual harvest we have laboured for four years to bring home. And then, my dear friends here with me at home, our own copies shall follow at the grand launch and beyond as the princes and princesses that we are. The scars are real. The stories are older than the scars. And the griot has found his voice. Empire of Scars is finally here. Shall the LEGENDARY J.O.E begin? Amazon Link: a.co/d/02RqfpMd Good Evening Severally...

This crowd? 😆 Alhaji, wny na? The man who has five nuts but insists he has ten will eventually discover that no amount of storytelling can multiply what nature never provided. When the five genuine nuts are exhausted, he will be left chewing the bitter wraps of his own falsehoods. After all, a man cannot eat his lies and expect his stomach to mistake them for food. The people did not turn up today as you hoped and mobilized not because they hate you Mr. Atiku, but because they simply do not trust a fellow who has got no regard for the noble principle of power rotation. They will also not invest their time, energy and political capital in a fellow whose boss Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has publicly questioned his character, intentions and political credentials. Finally, they will not put faith in a man who dismissed the Kaaba, Islam's holiest and most sacred sanctuary as irrelevant and of no value. No political ambition should be so restless that it treats matters sacred to millions of believers as mere instruments of political argument. There are boundaries even the most desperate political contest should not cross. You will fail in your 8th bid to be President, surely you will, because destiny has ruled out your name from reckoning and men have rejected you as a curse upon the land. The man who mistakes the noise of his own drum for the applause of the village may march confidently in the wrong direction, only to discover at the end of the road that nobody was following him.
SOKOTO CROWD REJECTS TINUBU’S HARDSHIP, EMBRACES ATIKU’S AFFORDABILITY AGENDA — ADC The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council has described the overwhelming reception accorded to its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in Sokoto on Wednesday as a powerful expression of public anger with the Tinubu administration and growing support for the ADC’s promise to make life affordable again. The ADC campaign train was flagged off in Sokoto amid a mammoth crowd that lined the route from Sultan Muhammad III International Airport to the party’s state secretariat. The motorcade took three and a half hours to reach the rally venue as men and women, young and old, including mothers, gathered to welcome and accompany Atiku. In several parts of the city, work came to a standstill. People left their offices and abandoned their daily activities to join the procession and attend the rally. This was not a crowd assembled by inducement. It was a spontaneous turnout by Nigerians who are struggling with the cost of food, transport, fuel and other basic necessities. The attempts to frustrate the rally only deepened public resentment. The Sokoto State Government denied the ADC access to public facilities requested for the campaign flag-off, while obstacles were placed in the path of the party’s legitimate campaign activities. The federal government and its APC allies should understand that denying people a venue cannot suppress their political choices. In Sokoto, those efforts backfired: the people came out in even greater numbers and made their voices heard. At the rally, Atiku reaffirmed his commitment to tackling the cost-of-living crisis and restoring hope to households and businesses. His plan includes a targeted, production-based subsidy for qualifying petroleum products refined in Nigeria. By tying support to domestic production, the policy will help bring down the cost of fuel and ease the pressure that high transport and energy costs place on food prices and family budgets. The ADC’s message is clear: Nigerians deserve a government that makes life more affordable, supports local production and responds to the hardship people face every day. When you have a message that connects with the people, you do not need to rent a crowd. The people show up on their own. Signed, Phrank Shaibu Director of Strategic Communication ADC Presidential Campaign Council. 4th November, 2026

The difference, however, is that in the United States, they have a professional and considerably more responsible crop of journalists populating the Fourth Estate, who understand that the business of journalism is not to weaponise every administrative shortcoming, sensationalise every technical failure or undermine public confidence in the electoral process, but to provide context, interrogate the facts and give due recognition to the positives without necessarily concealing the shortcomings. There is a difference between holding a system accountable and deliberately discrediting it. After all, it rains everywhere. The difference is in how we choose to report the rain.
Only that, in these same elections, there were multiple reports of ballot scanner programming glitches, as witnessed in Westchester County, New York, where machines reportedly rejected ballots at numerous polling locations, forcing election officials to resort to alternative procedures. There were also reports of voting equipment malfunctions in Broward County, Florida, where a new ballot verification feature reportedly delayed the voting process, raising concerns about prolonged disruptions. Then came the ballot shortage in Kansas, where one polling station reportedly received just 100 paper ballots instead of the 100,000 ordered. There were also allegations of vote switching and electoral interference, including complaints in Tennessee that touchscreen voting machines allegedly selected Republican candidates when voters attempted to select Democratic candidates. So, elections are elections everywhere. No system administered by human beings is entirely immune to errors, technical glitches, administrative shortcomings or even allegations of irregularities. When you come across an article, probably containing 5 to 6 paragraphs, and the first paragraph fails to captivate you, it’s best to move on. However, this doesn’t apply to @JOE 🫡. Every sentence he utter is a masterpiece. He skillfully weave words to convey their message. I am not a politician. I am not discussing the political aspects of anything or anything about the character in his tweet. But you can clearly see how he has articulated his thoughts.” It didn’t hit the arrow; he went straight to the archer. No, let’s give it to the legendary @LegendaryJoe, he is a man of wisdom. You are indeed a good person, sir.

Not using a stadium or any open place really covered ADC's shame today. Can we compare this with that of 2023, when Atiku of the PDP struggled to beat PBAT with fewer than 4k votes?
