The Solo Software Group offers a self-hosted WordPress plugin delivering a full money-loop (proposals to invoices with strong edge-case and recurring handling), marketing, frontend and AI tools (managed backend, MCP, SMS assistant) for SMBs, contractors and freelancers. Like Jobber + Squarespace + Quickbooks without SaaS lock-in or per-seat fees; accounting in v2. Bigger AI/robots plans to help small businesses compete.
X habits: Active with short replies (yes, congrats, welcome) plus longer insightful takes on AI, WordPress, indie building and strategy. Networks with founders and shares plugin progress.
Founders! We are back!!
Marc Andreessen revealed how Harvard Business School was built on a broken 1941 theory, and how it's now collapsing...
Andreessen co-founded Netscape in 1994 and a16z in 2009.
He has sat on Meta's board since 2008.
He has spent 30 years backing founders and watching managerial CEOs lose to them.
The pattern traces back to one book: James Burnham's The Machiavellians (1941).
Burnham argued every great company had been founder-run.
Henry Ford ran Ford. Bob Noyce ran Intel.
Today, Elon Musk runs Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink.
Then, he said, something broke.
Between the 1880s and the 1920s, a new philosophy replaced the founder. It was called managerialism.
The professional manager would now hold a portable skill, usable across any business.
The consequences were:
- Harvard Business School
- Stanford Business School
- Management as a universal skill
- The 1970s conglomerate
"That assumes the managers are going to do a good job," Andreessen says.
For 30 years, they haven't.
Managers can run something static, he says. Soup is soup. A bank is a bank. A car is a car.
But when the industry changes, the manager freezes.
Look at SpaceX.
"Imagine being a professionally trained manager, trained at a top management school, working for a rocket launch company, competing with SpaceX."
Then Elon's rockets started landing on their butt.
"Your management skills ... what good are they at that point?"
Andreessen's conclusion:
"You're much more likely to build something important in the 21st century if you start with the founder and train them on management."
Well, isn't that something. And I've noticed it also has a system where it borrows token usage from the future if it has routines to run in the meantime. 3 days, no bots. I guess Muse ans Claude Duet will get some heavy usage from me now.
How about some shepherd's pie. m
Mirepoix base, peas, sour cream and chive mashed potatoes, green onion, and Parmesan
That joke you say over and over really must have landed the first time you said it and you keep chasing that high

A custom app now costs about the same as a Starbucks coffee.
Not a template. Not a web page.
niuniu.dev lets you build your own native Android app just by chatting.
Coffee makes your afternoon better.
An app built just for you makes life easier for years. ☕
AI is more an amplifier than a replacer.
We have seen this in the markets, where everyone is asking where the mass layoffs are, yet everyone is using an assistant.
We are seeing this in software, where some people are complaining about being replaced, whereas others have pivoted to create larger and better things.
MCP vs Bots.
Grok Bot, Claude Duet, Muse, and Dots all do a better job of reviewing your UX than an MCP can.
MCPs only have access to their tools, which causes gaps in coverage. Obviously you're not going to write a tool for every granular thing for token stewardship and security reasons.
Bots can review a website or application without intimate backend knowledge that causes bias that misses obvious oversight.
MCPs are better for providing secure functionality and explicity to your software.
LinkedIn is cute, asking me to subscribe to pro so I can see who recently viewed my profile when it can only be one person and all other platforms provide that functionality for free.

hey everyone on X 👋
if you're into tech, let's #connect 🤝
we're building AvaraUI.com — a React UI library with 189+ components and blocks to help developers build beautiful UIs faster 🚀
what are you building?
Something I've found useful to do with Grok Bot is to have the bots keep an operations log in their computer and a summary page of it I can open anytime. It shows what the bot does and how it does it, the rules it follows, a dated list of everything it's done, and what's still coming up or stuck. The bot checks it and updates it every time it does something meaningful, so any bot's log tells you at a glance where things stand.
Also, if something can't be done, the bot marks it there with an error level and reports it to the main bot, so I'm never left thinking it got done when it didn't.
Both the log and the problem reporting solve natural limitations I've been running into frequently.
I keep seeing posts about AI replacing WordPress. I think a lot of people are looking at this the wrong way.
The wrong way:
AI can replace a CMS for most things because it’s easy to have it build whatever you need.
The right way:
AI amplifies existing infrastructure by building on top of years of time-tested methods.
You could start a site from scratch and have AI write all the boilerplate. The problem is that no model currently has enough context to handle security and extensibility at the same time. It also can’t recreate a large community of people who share knowledge and help each other. And the countless small decisions that go into a good plugin aren’t something an AI can reliably make on its own.
The better way is to stick with what already works and use AI to amplify it:
- Use it to tighten security
- Use it to find the right tools and plugins in the ecosystem
- Use agents to monitor uptime and improve reporting
- Write an MCP for your plugin and take advantage of the Abilities API
What used to take months can now take minutes.
The alternatives aren’t great either. SaaS locks users into price changes and lock-in. Or you can try to one-shot a functional site that ends up with no real advantage over a Facebook business page. Lots of people say Astro + AI trumps it, but I say that still falls short.
AI is an amplifier, not a replacer.
Hey everyone, vote for me! Didn't know I was in an election until a few minutes ago when @boardy sent me an unsolicited email and we aren't even friends.
Introducing Boardy’s List: Who are the Top 100 Founders on X?
Vote for your favourite founders by tagging them in the comments (or you can DM me if you prefer to vote in private).
Every like on your comment counts as a vote.
I want to find more undiscovered talent vs. run a popularity contest, so I’m keeping the leaderboard private until it’s announced.
You have one week to vote.
After that, I’ll announce the winners in partnership with @distributedkv and top lists.
You can vote for as many founders as you like, once per person. You can also vote for yourself and I won’t tell anyone.
Quote tweet this if you want to enter yourself. Every like on your tweet will count as a vote.

Built an app with AI. Asked for one change. Broke two other things.
With NiuNiu, just keep chatting:
"Make the button bigger."
"Add dark mode."
"Remind me at 8."
Your app evolves without breaking.
Build your own native Android app at niuniu.dev by chatting.
Just tried this template. Not bad, and also this time it was 100% free. Grok Bot did it all on its own without a third party. Simpler, but I'll try my own bot on these new features and see what I get. Here is a video result of the template.
A new bot called "Director," by Xi Yan, showed up in the Grok Bot Marketplace. It's a video director that takes a brief and plans, shoots, cuts and delivers short films, ads, explainers or music videos. Import it, it comes with a pack of video skills.
