When you’re sitting on the dock, enjoying the cooler weather, and suddenly hear a B-52 is coming in!
TUFF61 on approach at NAS JRB Fort Worth this afternoon. Look at the flex on that turn out!
And the best part? This is our BACKYARD. We get to sit on the dock and watch BUFFs come in like it’s just another afternoon. How lucky are we?!
It really doesn’t get much better than this.
Is there anything like watching the F-22 do what it does best?
Captain “Laz” Le Tourneau throws the Raptor into a sharp turn on takeoff at the Amigo AirSho in El Paso, Texas.
Some things never lose their Mach appeal.
In El Paso this morning for the Amigo Airsho!
This makes our 5th airshow of the season, and we realized last night that we’ve had to fly to every single one this year. Not a single one was a road trip!
With how our schedule is looking, this will probably be our last airshow of the year. What a way to wrap up the season!
You got it @DiFFn_fun!
Landed safely at our destination this evening! We had some beautiful lightning on our way in, which made for quite the arrival.
Anyone recognize where we are?
Husband has been gone for a 17-day trip, something he hasn’t had to do in quite a few months. Yesterday, we were on the phone and he was complaining about needing smaller shirts since he’s gone down TWO sizes.
So naturally, after picking him up today and heading home, we turned right back around and went to the airport! 😅
He spoiled me with a trip to the Admirals Lounge before our flight, and now we’re off on an adventure. I get to see somewhere he’s flown into quite a few times, and he hopefully gets to find some new shirts tomorrow!
These last minute trips are our specialty.

Just a friendly reminder to make sure you have 2FA set up on your accounts! Someone tried to gain access to mine this week, but thankfully, they weren’t successful.
I didn’t click on any suspicious links, so they probably just tried to guess my password was something like ILoveLockheedMartin35. 😅
Sorry if I’ve missed anyone’s replies! I’ll be catching up on those today.
Flashback Friday to a year ago at Dyess Air Force Base. Getting some B-1 Bone action, with a C-130 making an appearance.
The first B-1B Lancer entered service in October 1986, so it’s a pretty fitting month for this one.
Did you know that in full afterburner, the B-1 burns about 70 lbs of fuel per second? That’s roughly 600 gallons per minute!
Have you had the chance to experience a B-1 in full afterburner? It’s something you feel in your chest.
Another lifetime ago, in Alaska…I miss that job.
Let’s see your boat/ship captures ⛵️
From small rowboats to massive ocean liners—anything that floats!
Appreciating the last warm day in the backyard before the cold front hits.
Who am I kidding? It’s Texas. It’ll probably be 85° on Christmas again. 😅
The kiddo tried to roast me last weekend when I was taking videos of the wildlife. She told me I wasn’t National Geographic. I told her no, but we basically live in Nat Geo. 😂
Seriously, there’s so much awesome wildlife right here in our own backyard!

Life is a bit busy at the moment, so I haven’t even had a chance to download yesterday’s shots yet.
In the meantime, here are some more shots of the NAS Meridian T-45s from earlier this spring.
This was a great lesson in light painting and learning how to really use my camera for night photography. It came in handy a few weeks later when I headed to SUN ’n FUN and spent the whole week taking night shots.
Full disclosure, I did use Lightroom’s Denoise feature on these photos. I have noticed X has started flagging those with AI tags when I use either this or the remove tool.
Also, bonus, my favorite shot that did NOT work. Yet I still love the abstractness of it.

When the hardest decision of my morning is which coffee cup to use, I’d say it’s not such a bad day.
T-45 Goshawk giving us a nice little turn out on departure from NAS JRB Fort Worth. This one was among the hurricane-evac aircraft that left yesterday!
These aircraft serve as trainers for U.S. Navy pilots and first became operational in 1991. So the T-45 and I both entered service in the same year. One trains Navy pilots. The other spends her time chasing jets with a camera.
T-45s are based at NAS Kingsville, NAS Meridian, and NAS Pensacola, where these aircraft are from. A handful also operate out of NAS Patuxent River for flight testing and evaluation.
Correction: this aircraft is actually from NAS Meridian. Thank you to @SereneV_c for pointing that out!
I should have caught that as earlier this year, we spent quite some time photographing Meridian T-45s. Here is one from that photoshoot with a storm approaching at night.
I’m going to guess it was the Cowboys from VMFA-112 with their color bird! It was up flying this week, but this photo is from August 2025.
Replying to @LensOfMae @DanMcClinton1
We had a bunch of different ones this week. I assume refugees. Also had an F-18 w a bright blue tail top structure.
