Seven years of implementing the Young Africa Works strategy have shown that when employment systems are unstable, equipping individuals can only go so far. Expanding access to opportunity requires stronger systems and closer alignment with the institutions that shape them. Learn more: ow.ly/uXVV5100YPb

"Whatever you do, wherever you are, don't waste time. Learn, work, and make the effort to understand what is right and what is wrong. Do what is right, and avoid what is wrong. Keep building yourself as time goes on. This requires discipline, self-control, and a clear understanding of what you are doing. And it has to be consistent. You cannot be disciplined at night and then lose that discipline during the day. You have to keep at it. At your age, this is when your life can take one direction or another. You can come out of these years having built yourself into a better person, or the opposite. Things move very fast at this stage of life. You can either build yourself or destroy yourself. It's never too late. Even when you realise that you have lost something along the way, perhaps because you were carried away by emotions or the easy things in life, and you lost your way, whenever you come to your senses, remember that there is still time to turn things around and build a better life. Don't give up and say it is too late, that the damage has already been done. Even when things have gone too far, they can still be put right. Never give up." AI doesnโ€™t make teaching less personal. It gives teachers time back for what matters most: their learners. For Rhoda Namakau Mubita, a Biology teacher and inclusive education advocate in Zambia, adopting AI has been a continuous learning journey, one she is taking alongside her learners. It saves her time on lesson planning, so she can stay focused on the people in her classroom. Thatโ€™s the pathway from classroom to career in action: a teacher, the right tools, and a classroom with room for everyone. How are teachers around you using digital tools? Tell us below. #YoungAfricaWorks #GirlsEducation #EdTech

Africa is home to the worldโ€™s fastestโ€‘growing generation of young talent and a rare opportunity to shape the future of global work. Realizing this potential will depend on whether growth translates into jobs, informal work becomes more productive and secure, young women can fully participate in labour markets, and education systems equip youth with the relevant skills they need to thrive. Schools are only as strong as their teachers. But the latest data show shortages are widespread. In some countries, up to 4% of teaching positions were vacant as the academic year began, leaving schools relying on non-fully qualified staff. Learn more: oecd.org/en/publications/eduโ€ฆ

The partnership launched with a two-day Executive AI Academy at ASYV on October 16โ€“17, bringing senior business leaders together to explore AI, leadership and organisational transformation. The initiative aims to help executives turn AI ambitions into measurable outcomes through practical learning, peer discussions and leadership development. The partnership will also establish the ASYV Future Skills Hub to equip young people with technology skills, confidence and real-world experience for Rwandaโ€™s emerging digital economy. TeKnowledge CEO Aileen Allkins and ASYV CEO Jean Claude Nkulikiyimfura said the collaboration will connect leadership development with future talent preparation. President Kagame responds to those who say: "Formula 1 is too big for a small country like Rwanda." I tell those people to take a deep breath and calm down, and wait to see what is coming. First, we are people, like the people of other parts of the world. There is nothing, no event, nothing that is bigger than people. So, we are a small country, but we are a people. Formula One is big indeed, but it is not a goal just in itself. In fact, Formula One is part of the big picture of what Rwanda has to do. We made progress as a country, as a people, but also for this particular Formula One, as a sport for Africa. We are not looking at just Rwanda alone. We are looking at Rwanda in the context of the continent, and we have indeed ambitions to bring in other African brothers and sisters to participate. It is Rwandan, it is African, and it is a big deal that we are very happy to be associated with.
