2022: 40kg Ballast losgeworden. 20kg vor mir, alles im Griff. 2025: Kein Plan überlebt die Realität. 2026, Runde zwei: Wieder 20kg zum Ziel. Dieses Mal besser ausgerüstet. #LeonVsLeon

Micron has paid its employees in Taiwan and India cash bonuses that range from 35 to 68 months of salary plus a one time $31000 “appreciation” bonus. That’s 6 years of salary! The company believes in sharing success with workers and expects it’s best days ahead . $mu

Das finde ich relativ wenig, wenn ich überlege das mein Einstiegsgehalt 2021 schon bei 55k€ ?
5.000 € brutto. 3.134 € netto. Fullstack-Entwickler in München, 26 Jahre alt, drei Jahre Berufserfahrung. 40 Stunden, Steuerklasse 1. 1.866 € Steuern und Sozialabgaben gehen jeden Monat vom Brutto weg. 60.000 € Jahresgehalt klingt ordentlich.

Discord is finally ditching Electron, and its new Windows 11 client written in Rust is already showing some promising RAM usage! The company is rebuilding its entire desktop client in Rust, using GPUI for the interface. Discord said it's not using Tauri. Discord has even shared an early screenshot of the new app, codenamed Discord Phoenix, showing just 290.2MB of RAM usage! For comparison, the current Electron-based Discord regularly uses 1–2GB of RAM on my PC, even when idle, and the company has admitted that some users can hit 4GB. Discord has been using Rust since 2018 for backend infra, but getting the entire client onto it was the "holy grail." I'm particularly interested in this because Windows 11 has too many popular apps carrying their own browser engines, eating RAM while doing relatively simple things.

The bug is like a joke. On Alpine Linux, type 257 to 1024 characters of anything and you get root. 💀
‼️ BREAKING: OpenSSH has rushed out a fix for a critical flaw that lets attackers log into some Linux servers without the right password. The team learned of the bug a day earlier. OpenSSH's Damien Miller says long embargoes now mostly help attackers, because AI agents rediscover bugs, sometimes within hours. It hits Linux systems on the musl C library with PAM off, such as Alpine Linux. Miller told admins to disable password logins or SSH itself "IMMEDIATELY". Version 10.6p2 works around it. Systems on glibc or PAM are not affected, and Miller says the root cause sits outside OpenSSH.

Está tan mal el mercado de memoria RAM que Microsoft se ha visto obligado a mejorar Windows 11 y que funcione mejor en máquinas con 8GB. 🤷‍♂️
Today, we’re sharing updates from the team on memory improvements, including work that makes experiences on 8 GB @Windows 11 PCs faster and more responsive. Windows quality is an ongoing journey. We’ll keep listening, building on what we learn, and sharing our progress 🚀. blogs.windows.com/windowsexp…
