Sphesihle Vezi has criticised the government, questioning why foreign nationals were allowed to occupy Moore Road for four months, while South Africans staying there are being asked to leave within just a few weeks. He says they will not allow March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma to be bullied by the government. Vezi also questions whether Premier Thami Ntuli and the government are standing with foreign nationals or local citizens.

BREAKING NEWS: The three Ethiopian nationals who are accused of the attempted murder that led to riots and torching of cars and businesses in the Durban CBD three weeks ago have been freed on R5000 bail by the Durban Magistrate’s Court. The State wanted them to remain behind bars, saying they are flight risks, but the defence disagreed. The State said they won’t be safe outside, but the defence argued that all three accused literally live minutes away from three police stations in the Durban CBD and their safety is guaranteed. The Magistrate remarked that the three are asylum seekers and as such, they enjoy the same constitutional rights as South Africans and freed them on bail with stringent conditions. Furthermore, the State tried to point out discrepancies in their passports and asylum documents, raising issues of possible fraud and corruption. However, the State’s argument was watered down by evidence that was given by an immigration official who told the court that their systems have glitches and sometimes it loses records, hence they don’t have some of the information required for the court to take an informed decision - KZN Tonight Podcast

This is what irks me with these folks. Home Affairs only has 1169 immigration officers, they don’t even have documents scanners, biometric tools to do the work. This is on top on non existent borders. The DA/ANC/GNU doesn’t have any political will to deal with illegal immigration.
“We as government have said, we are the only authority that has the power, ability to deal with illegal migration,” said President Cyril Ramaphosa during an election campaign for the ANC in eMagabheni, eThekwini. He addressed the recent anti-illegal immigration protests. TCG

BREAKING NEWS 🚨 Cachalia Seeks Court Interdict To Stop March And March Protests In Durban Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia has approached the High Court seeking an urgent interdict to restrict March and March Movement protests in parts of Durban, including around the Department of Home Affairs Refugee Reception Centre on Che Guevara Road. The case, **Minister of Police v March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma**, is scheduled to be heard on Friday, 30 October 2026, at 10:00. According to the amended notice of motion, Cachalia wants the court to prevent Ngobese-Zuma and other members of the movement from organising or participating in marches, processions and protest convoys within the defined area of eThekwini Municipality. The proposed restrictions cover the Durban CBD, Berea and the vicinity of the Refugee Reception Centre, including Che Guevara Road, formerly known as Moore Road. Cachalia is also seeking an order prohibiting Ngobese-Zuma and the other named parties from committing, encouraging or assisting acts of violence, intimidation and property damage. The conduct listed in the court papers includes assaulting or threatening members of the public, looting, setting fire to or damaging homes, businesses and vehicles, attacking the Home Affairs premises, and coercing people to close businesses or leave their homes and workplaces. The application further seeks to prevent the obstruction of entrances and exits or the use of threats and intimidation to deny people reasonable access to buildings and premises. The matter is brought as an urgent application under Rule 6(12) of the Uniform Rules of Court and references the Regulation of Gatherings Act 205 of 1993. Cachalia is asking the court to issue a rule nisi requiring Ngobese-Zuma and the other named parties to show cause why the requested restrictions should not be confirmed. The court has yet to decide whether to grant the relief sought. The application does not seek a blanket nationwide ban on protests. Instead, it targets specified March and March activities within eThekwini, particularly around the Refugee Reception Centre. The legal action follows repeated demonstrations by March and March outside the Durban facility, where the movement has campaigned for stricter immigration enforcement and raised concerns about foreign nationals working in the delivery sector. During a protest on Tuesday, Ngobese-Zuma said the movement had been marching for 21 months and accused the government of attempting to prevent it from exercising its right to protest. Ngobese-Zuma and the movement have described the proposed court action as an attempt to curtail their constitutional right to protest and have called on supporters to attend Friday’s hearing. The application comes amid heightened security in Durban, following recent tensions surrounding protests and violence linked to immigration-related grievances. The government announced the deployment of 510 South African National Defence Force members to support police in maintaining law and order in the city. The case remains pending, and the requested restrictions should not be treated as an existing court order.

No one is calling Ramaphosa a tribalist for constantly singling out Zulu people. He sends the SANDF against unarmed civilians and deploys police from other provinces who labelled marchers “Zulus.” If a Zulu president did this to another province, all hell would break loose.
[Statement] President Cyril Ramaphosa has informed the Speaker of the National Assembly, Honourable Thoko Didiza, and the Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, Honourable Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane, of his decision to deploy five hundred and ten (510) members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) in the province of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), for the service of cooperation with the South African Police Service (SAPS) in support of Operation Prosper. The members of the SANDF will assist the SAPS in maintaining law and order in KZN, especially in light of recent violent actions arising from a campaign of misinformation about the Constitutional Court judgment on the Refugee Act. We just received court papers from the Minister of Police with instructions that we must be interdicted from Marching and we must not be allowed to organise a March, picket, motorcade or stage any of them, on top of that we must not go to a Home Affairs Department! On Friday we are in Court and we ask all Patriots who can make it to please support us against the Minister of Police and the President, that are abusing power and using the courts to strip us of our democratic right to Protest 🙏🏻🇿🇦

Mozambican National Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison After Being Caught Bringing a 60mm Military Mortar Bomb Into South Africa Through Lebombo Border A 26-year-old Mozambican national, Antonio Charles Mugabe, has been sentenced to 10 years’ direct imprisonment after pleading guilty to importing a military-grade explosive device into South Africa through the Lebombo Port of Entry in Mpumalanga. The Hawks secured the conviction following an investigation into the incident, which raised serious public safety and national security concerns. Mugabe appeared before the Boschfontein Regional Court on Monday, 26 October 2026, where he pleaded guilty to three charges: possession of an explosive device, transportation of an explosive device and importation of an explosive device into South Africa. The charges relate to an incident on 23 August 2026 at the Lebombo Port of Entry in Komatipoort. During a joint border security operation, South African Police Service (SAPS) members and South African Revenue Service (SARS) officials were screening travellers entering South Africa from Mozambique. Officials scanning Mugabe’s luggage identified a suspicious object concealed inside his travel bag. A subsequent search uncovered a 60mm mortar bomb, prompting his immediate arrest at the port of entry. The Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation unit in Nelspruit investigated the case, which was transferred from the Komatipoort Magistrates’ Court to the Boschfontein Regional Court. Mpumalanga Hawks provincial head Major General Nico Gerber welcomed the sentence and praised the coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies in intercepting the explosive device before it could reach South African communities.
