The dangerous version of pyramiding: Small first entry. Bigger second. Biggest at the top. Now your average entry sits near the highs, and one normal pullback turns the whole trade red. Build the base big. The top small.

"I made $400 this week" says nothing on its own. Was that +0.5R or +8R? Tracking results in R shows whether your edge is improving, even when your size changes. Dollars measure the account. R measures the trader.
