Applying the same dishonest tricks agilists use to shill their methodology, in this article I show that waterfall is actually far more based and sensible.

Can you unironically imagine how much better the web would be if more cpmpanies hired html engineers?
I sometimes forget I'm not really a proper programmer.
I mean I can make software, I understand it, and it's interesting, but very rarely have I been a pure dev who sits there all day implementing tickets.
I should probably keep that in mind when I get bewildered on here.
Do you guys sometimes think there might be some correlation between the dreary state of discourse about software development today, and the big drive to "democratise programming" with bootcamps etc some 10 years hither? Because I don't that's a riduclous conspiracy theory.

I feel similarly when I see people saying "I use AI to generate all this annoying boilerplate that X / Y / Z system requires". Ok but why is there so much boilerplate? Surely it's better to get rid of it than to spend billions in GPU compute papering over it for the rest of time?
How many devs have access to a coherent document - large or small - that tells you the real world problems the software you're working on solves?
Not how it solves them, but *why* it solves them - ie business context, or a rationale for why the software exists at all.
32%Such a doc is available
56%Such a doc is not avail
12%Not a dev

I don't wanna hear y'all talking about blur effects...and corner radii. I don't care about any of that.... YA HEARD?
Y'all want beautiful design? Nah. BUMP THAT.
I wanna see a big button... with big fonts, and big shadows... BEING CLICKED.
Whenever I am IRL I think about problems I see. Like when I'm waiting for a prescriptions I sit there fantasising about the ideal medical distributed system set up.
All useless of course - those are relationship and political issues.
Do we all have this defect in tech?
I spent an embarassingly long amount of time trying to emulate my biro annotations which I w/ pen+paper on typst, and I have to say it wasn't really worth it.
Think I am getting a feel for Afrikaans pronounciation though.
So I did this for 10 months. Either kept my PC on every night, or shut it down, so my audio would keep working.
Tried hibernating again the other day - everything works fine now. Some update somewhere along the line fixed it. Neat.

mine fucks up as soon as I come back from a hibernate. starts popping.
mabye I'll go back to shutting down my PC every night like I am using windows 2000 again
Haven't vibecoded for a while - why do agents constantly plan mode shaming you now?
Every single response is sandwhiched between "I'm in plan mode..." and "Switch to build mode to..."

don't worry, scro there're plenty of 'tards out there living really kick-ass lives my first wife was 'tarded she's a vibe coder now
Been reading the Wizard of Oz to my 4yo. We got to the point where they discover who's behind the screen, and she said, very emphatically:
'It's just a little BLOODY man 😠"
Enjoying learning some Afrikaans. It's close enough to English that you can really get stuck in very quickly.
It's fun to pronounce. A lot of weird vowels, but TBH growing up in NZ I have heard a lot of the vowels before from South Africans speaking English😁
Why do sysadmins keep inventing new names for the work they do?
I reapect sysadmins and I will call them by their preferred professional-noun of SRE if they want, but weren't they called devops like 5 minutes ago?
I firmy believe that Deterministic Simulation Testing is a generally appliacable technique, and not something for distributed systems.
You can do it for a web app frontend, or a compiler. As long as the test loop simulates the io, it works.
I wish I was popular on the internet, than I could live stream myself doing the stupid things I want to do, like learning Afrikaans by reading random wikipedia articles.
