it wasn't a discussion in 2023 when Sevilla won it (finishing 12th), in 2022 when Eintracht Frankfurt won it (11th), in 2021 when Villarreal won it (7th), or when Sevilla won it three years in a row from 2014-2016 despite finishing outside the top 4 every single year.
This narrative is extremely disingenuous. It's because Manchester United would stand to benefit so much from winning it, just be honest. That is the problem.
