Four minutes from an 18-minute video of me looking at some of the defensive improvements that Iraola's made at Liverpool. I thought the Brentford game was an excellent example of how much our press has improved this season.

Some of Liverpool's performances, especially defensively, have been excellent. We're not perfect, but after wins vs Bournemouth, Brentford and Brighton, I looked at what Andoni Iraola's getting right. I'd love it if you checked it out on YouTube!⤵️⤵️⤵️ youtube.com/watch?v=pAtGP-YT…

Long term, we can't be starting Araujo and Gakpo on that side. We have an internal solution, but then that causes an issue on the other side that needs to be addressed in the transfer window.

Gvardiol LB, Szobo RB. Nyoni + whoever else in midfield next season.

I repeat: Szoboszlai has never been, and will never be, a double pivot player. There's one very obvious place for him in the team, and that's at RB. Imagine him in the positions Araujo was.

Our buildup is also really bad. That's what happens when you have a CB at RB, a GK that's struggling to kick, and a LB that can't build up.

Szoboszlai has never been a double pivot player at club level outside of an odd game. The only time he's been trusted in the middle is in a midfield three, and there's a reason for that. Whether he likes it or not, he's our best RB, and that's his best position.

I also acknowledge some coaching issues, but I cba to go over them now. Next week, sure. Not now.

That, my friends, is a second Premier League title for the London Reds.

Change the press now. Get Barcola or Gakpo alongside Isak.

Van Dijk's stepping up to Odegaard. I don't like it that much. I'm already thinking that we should switch so that Wirtz stays on a midfielder, and Barcola/Gakpo press a centre-back.

He's actually started Nyoni. Fair play. Incredibly intelligent, on and off the ball. Excellent at reading the jumps, great in buildup. TRUST THE CHILDREN!

Liverpool face Arsenal, and if we want to beat them at Anfield, we have to control them. If we want to control them, we need to be wary of one thing in particular...... I don't have time to go into huge depth, but I'd love a follow on Substack!⤵️⤵️⤵️ thefootballsnapshot.substack…

Followed. And, yes. Rio shouldn't start today. Told someone else the same thing yesterday, not sound enough defensively to help out against Arsenal's way of bringing numbers both inside and out. Barcola RW in such games is the way. He's used to it.

Still believe it. We need a midfielder in January, but we can absolutely challenge.

We can win the league even if there are gaps in our squad.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that De Zerbi, Jurgen Klopp, Arne Slot, Andoni Iraola and Scaloni all adore Mac Allister.

Andoni Iraola on Alexis Mac Allister: “He understands the game overall. Not just the demands of his position but what is happening overall. “Sometimes he is the first to correct his team-mates live, not just the one that is next to him. He understands what is happening, which is a very good quality to have.” 🔴🇦🇷 #LFC
