The clubs point of view this shows good governance in line with their provisional licence application.
Does silverwood become a director? and if so does the IFR and EFL directors tests come in
Be intrigued to see the role title and role description submitted to the IFR.
That’s my Owls Trust membership over. Having a club board member is a conflict of interests. No way the #swfc owners can legitimately be held to account by the trust
Fontaines DC overrated
Sam fender overrated
The 1975 definitely overrated
Blossoms they’re making some good good music 👏 as far as indie music goes 😮💨

Am I missing the joke or is that a valid question to ask.
Like a referee ref’s a team they support. 🤷♂️
Jill Scott hit a new low on @WeAreTheOverlap this week. The others don’t even pretend to take her seriously anymore. They just laugh.
Lawyer Paul Gilroy was breaking down the City charges and the appeal, saying the chair of the appeal board will almost certainly be a very senior figure — “a Lord or a Sir somebody”.
Up pops Jill, serious face, serious question: “Do they check which football team they support? 🤦♂️
Gilroy: “Every member of the panel has to make a declaration, before the case begins.”
Cue outright laughter from the rest of the desk, Carra especially. 😂
Gilroy then just mocks her: “Jill Scott’s application to be on the appeal board is… rejected.” 😭
She sits there looking sheepish. It’s getting cruel at this point. We get a clip like this every single week. Make it stop!
Gary doesn’t know there’s clubs in the championship and arguably league one that are bigger then Man City.
Best account on X at the moment.

This was one of JUST SIX emails that Man City provided as evidence at CAS. They were ordered to hand over EVERYTHING (thousands) but they refused and Uefa allowed it, thereby throwing their case.
However, you can see how much City redacted.
The PL made sure they got it all.

Based on reports of Man City’s proposed appeal, its “irrefutable proof” (which the Commission refuted and called “concocted”) asserts that state-owned sponsors received state funding to help pay the sponsor contracts… and that this money was not paid by the owner company, ADUG.
If Man City could prove this (and the PL could not prove Man City and the sponsors were Related Parties) then this would absolve Man City of the most serious charges that resulted in PSR breaches.
The challenge they faced with this at the Commission is that they handed the PL originals of all the emails and other documents that could be found in the Football Leaks, which show in no uncertain terms that the money was paid by ADUG and that they are Related Parties.
Because there would have been no reason to lie in the emails, and there are so many, from so many senior people “in the know”… they become incredibly credible, reliable, cogent evidence.
As such, Man City presenting counter-factual evidence when they DID have a reason to lie was always going to be treated as concocted unless they could mitigate for the emails with an innocent explanation.
Their attempt to explain the emails as “false assumptions” was never going to be considered plausible given the reasons above.
In the comments below, I will put a thread of linked posts from old analysis that afford evidence of payments by ADUG and that Man City and the sponsors were Related Parties.
Given the individuals involved, the statements made, the volume of them, over the length of time… you can decide for yourself whether you believe it plausible that all these people were merely “confused”… 🧵
“Once you change the financial strength of one club, you don’t only change that club”
This part.
There’s an argument that city were the catalyst for the sheer play value inflation rate in English football.
To find out that was done and caused by cheating 🤷♂️
🚨 Sir Alex Ferguson on Manchester City being found guilty of breaching the Premier League’s financial rules:
“I read the news and the first person I thought about was Carlos Tevez.
Funny, isn’t it? After all these years.
We wanted Carlos to stay. David Gill spoke to his representatives, we made our offer, they said we’d left it too late and eventually he went across Manchester.
Then City put up that bloody ‘Welcome to Manchester’ poster.
I remember looking at it and thinking, ‘They haven’t just signed one of our players. They want us to know they can.’
That was when I called them a small club with a small mentality.
But there was something else happening around that period that people forget.
Suddenly City could walk into conversations for players that previously would have been choosing between United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Madrid, Barcelona.
I remember one summer hearing that Adebayor had agreed to join City, then apparently his people were still contacting us and Chelsea.
I thought, ‘What a strange situation. Players who would rather be somewhere else are signing for City anyway.’
At the time, you simply accepted that they had enormous financial power. You competed with it.
That’s football.
But if you then discover years later that rules were being broken during the period in which you’re trying to compete with that financial power, you’re entitled to look back differently.
Because people will say, ‘Ferguson was just angry because City became successful.’
No.
I was angry before they were successful.
I was standing there in 2009 watching them take Tevez, chase players everywhere and put his face on a building to celebrate taking him from us.
Imagine telling me then, ‘Alex, one day the Premier League will investigate how all of this was being financed.’
I’d probably have pointed at the poster and said, ‘You might want to start there.’
And that’s the part people miss when discussing what happened afterwards.
Once you change the financial strength of one club, you don’t only change that club.
You change where players go.
You change what everybody else has to pay.
You change which manager gets which footballer.
You change title races before the first ball is kicked.
People can spend the next twenty years asking whether this player would’ve joined United, whether that player would’ve joined Chelsea, whether somebody else would’ve gone to Arsenal.
Nobody can prove those alternate histories.
But I know this much.
When I was fighting them, I thought I was fighting Manchester City.
Apparently I should’ve brought an accountant.”
City fans should be in uproar.
Not even from a city point of view but a football view. English football has been affected by the likes of Man City and their “funds” over the years.
This is literally the reason why football is now under regulation. future of football is bright.
🤷♂️ "I've not heard any Man City fan say how disappointed they are [in the owners]"

Forever been known as the JPT to me, with a very vivid memory of Nicky weaver smashing the final goalie v goalie penalty into the net as though the net had offended him, verses chesterfield to take us to the next round.

Massively under appreciated at Wednesday.
Windass has the confidence and self belief as a footballer that most people wish they had, and it’s why people mistake it for arrogance.
If you don’t believe in ya sen you’ll go nowhere. Or stay where you are.
