MotoGP riders who “geopolitically know nothing” probably won’t be super keen on this geopolitical news update…
BREAKING: The U.S. has reportedly started launching attacks on targets in southern Iran, with explosions reported across Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas and the port city of Bandar-e-Jask, as fighter jets were once again spotted and heard over the region.
A surface-to-air missile was launched from Bandar Abbas in an apparent attempt to intercept the aircraft. Further explosions were subsequently reported on Qeshm Island and in Bandar Abbas, with Iranian state news agencies Fars and IRNA confirming the explosions.
Does F1 not have functioning radar or the ability to apply common sense? Surely you could have scrapped FP3 and brought qualifying forward. This entire situation just seems avoidable 🤷♂️

Yamaha’s Qatar bombshell has triggered a power struggle MotoGP may lose

The problem MotoGP has now is that if one Japanese team pulls out, the other almost certainly will. Several teams are already depleted in terms of riders, so how many test/replacement riders are going to risk going to Qatar?
Dorna has lost the locker room, it seems. Massive ramifications to follow surely

The guy was 102 points down at the end of May. Now he's about to beat Valentino Rossi to 10 world titles. There's a long, soul-searching winter coming up for Aprilia on how badly they fumbled this season
So... Qatar Grand Prix still sounds like a good idea, yeah?

Analysis ✍️

Kinda wild that poor weather will cancel a race quite quickly, but the threat of bombs and missiles and your entire paddock getting stuck in a war zone, and thus the end of your championship being completely fucked, is a tolerable criteria to host a grand prix... 🤔

Why Jorge Martin’s injury is the least of his worries in Marc Marquez title battle
crash.net/motogp/feature/110…
I really can't help but think about Marc's comment on Thursday: 'If you're fast enough, you don't need team orders'. And how much of a chord that may have struck with Martin, especially when you look at his crash today...
Jorge Martin’s first words after Australia MotoGP sprint crash

This could well be the definitive moment in the 2026 title battle. Such a shame if this is how it ends for Martin. But MotoGP this year has had a funny habit of throwing curveballs almost every race, so you never know!
Following today's crash, Jorge Martin has sustained a fractured wrist and is declared unfit for tomorrow's race. Wishing the 2024 World Champion a fast recovery! #MotoGP #AustralianGP
