This is from that June 2020 “concert,” aka covid protest, in Iron County. I’ve been waiting for people to figure out who Guy Fieri really is.

“I was never ready for this, and I knew that. I tried telling people, and they didn’t listen.” Giselle, who goes by G, was 17 years old and 11 weeks pregnant. As a minor, her access to an abortion was governed by Texas’s “parental involvement” law. nytimes.com/2022/11/29/magaz…

Thank you to the amazing team — including those who have already left the station. Public radio is such a special thing and you all have shown me that. If you ever need someone to talk about RHOSLC, I’m ready. Also I’m v excited to see what @ElleCNews does now with this beat!

Today is my last day as @KUER’s southern Utah and environmental reporter. I’ve so enjoyed the last 2+ years! I don’t really have words to describe it all, so here are some of my fav pics of the desert I loved reporting in (plus me doing radio stuff irl).

The GM of @AltaSkiArea said they'll fund where gondola lands, but didn't say they'd help w/ overall project. As for the criticism it's only for resorts? "It's really a service for the public ... It's no different than someone saying, I want to use Trax to go to the Jazz game."
Opponents say it's a huge burden (estimated at $550 million) for the public, especially since it'll mainly serve private resorts. Plus they say it won't actually fix the traffic probs. But the phased plans could be a silver lining, "Now it's in our hands to change our behavior.”

Today @UDOTTRAFFIC picked a gondola to address Little Cottonwood Canyon traffic probs, but it's going to take years to actually happen. In the meantime, the canyon will get an enhanced bus system & other improvements. Lots of feelings about the gondola! kuer.org/politics-government…
